Id rather have Marcina
I'm a brave boy.
He scored goals for the Knights, and he scored eight goals in the Olywhites Olympic campaign (top scorer and twice as many as Costa). Remember he is only 21, and as I said, on what I have seen this year, he has improved a lot in the past year. He also creates goals, setting up one of Smeltz's against Vanuatu for the senior All Whites with a lovely header, which shows that they already can do the bizzo as a duo.

I agree. Who wants someone with pace, who runs at players and who can finish. Nah f**k that, I say just stick with miskick Hearfield and clueless Kwasnik

If we could swap someone for him maybe, but we have one slot left and we need a dedicated striker.

Is that a hint HN or wishful thinking?

Didn't the Nix release a couple of dud Brazilians last year and sign players they needed. I'm of the opinion there are a couple of Aussies that we signed this year who just haven't fitted in - Kwasnik and Hearfield, for mine - who might be better off going back over the ditch, and sign Brockie and a good distributing central attacking midfielder. That still leaves the last roster spot and the marquee signing. And how much longer are the fans going to wait for those signings. The season is a quarter of the way over already.

I'm not saying he's a bad player, and that I think we shouldn't sign him, given we're unlikely to find anyone better than him at this stage.
He scored 4 in 12 for the Knights which is not a bad return, but hasn't really impressed all that much at NZFC level. Scoring goals against Oceania opposition hardly makes one a proven scorer at the international level. But he still has plenty of years ahead of him, so he could become a very good player.

Apprently he is exploring a couple of options overseas and if they don't work out he will be playing for team welly.

He was better than anyone in the central league this year. played less than half the games and almost finished with top goal scorer. ok it is only central league but he also had a great olywhites campaign, and is fit as a fiddle.

Heard he was considering North Queensland?? Is that just a rumour?
You know we belong together...

I had this thought watching today that his brashness might complement Kwasnik and Smeltz, plus he would have more pace than Smeltz perhaps chasing through balls etc?

I definately think RH fits into the category of coach who prefers to play guys who have been there, done that rather than younger guys.. case in point..playing Jonno and Covs..
Others like Farina at the Roar are prepared to play younger guys like Kruse and Zullo and are reaping the rewards now..
I think this is what Nelsen was commenting on recently.. our U23 guys can actually play footy and IMO the Nix should be playing some of them ahead of others on the roster... it's hard to comment on Draper and Costa as I haven't seen them play much but I have seen a bit of Brockie and while he is very raw and wouldn't be one of the better HAL strikers he would earn his stripes and chip in a few goals in the next 2 seasons and potentially pay dividends in future years..
I really hope the Nix get the Youth Team going... I consider it crucial to NZ Football as it is silly having our top U23s playing amateur NZFC...
