Being a huge psv fan (my family lives there) alex is probably one of the best defenders playing, and has been for the past 3 years. He's got an amazing free kick aswell as winning headers. He's actually been on a wierd loan plan from chelsea since he came to PSV.
Hed be on big bucks at PSV and has so much potential im always suprised to see he hasnt moved on to 'bigger' teams if you will or EPL Giants. He is not in our league at all.

Diego tardelli hasnt featured much in the PSV plans, he was bought as a replacement when Jan Vennegoor was sold to Celtic, but doesnt have the size or ability to hold up a ball as well Jan.

tardelli is moving back to sao paolo this season so it will not be him.

ive got some old tapes so i mite do some sleuthing....

The only Brazilian defender currently in PSV is Alex.
Okay, so Chelsea want him first.

Then there is ex Urawa Reds Alex who went off to Salzburg, Austria (not Hungary).  He's the  Brazilian who went to Japan 15 years ago and became a Japanese citizen.  Alessandro dos Santos

So Lunatic you said Brazilian Alex ex Korea and Hungary, and I've found Alex from Brazil ex Japan and Austria.  Near neighbours in both cases.  Am I getting close?

yeah but he says "who has" played at psv. which would indicate hes not playing there now.

ive been watching videos from 1995 onwards....so i should be able to find him.

Is a G-14 club not big enough?

dont know what you mean by 'G-14' must be canadian lingo but alex is an amazing player but its harder to get that 'amazing' profile in holland because there are only 3 good teams.... much like the SPL. When ruud van nistelrooy was PSV he was amazing and the people that knew about him were counting the days he'd be picked up by a 'Bigger' club (hence Man Utd - size, fans, publicity) and he flourished. Career wise i think he deserves a club with the attributes that Man Utd have. (not that im a fan of Man U, infact i despise them - but everyone knows of them.)

I had a search but couldn't find any 29yo Brazilans that have played for PSV

Jorge Enrique Amaral Jorginho Paulista  (Jorge Henrique Amaral de Castro)
played for PSV in 1998/99 and  is 27yo

http://www.netvasco.com.br/futebol/elenco2005/jorginhopaulista.html

Any luck with the videos Jordy?

Clever of Herbert to fill all 4 overseas spots with Brasilians.  Less chance of homesick problems as they will mix.  I believe at least 3 of the 4 are married as well, with wives coming over during their contracts - so they shouldn't have problems with wives complaining about homesickness either (if that's sexist I really don't care).

hopefully if/when these imports arrive they either A: stick out the duration of the contract, play well and help us win OR B: play so well a big club wants them and pays a massive transfer fee

things are looking up

Won't be Alex the Brazilian defender whos at PSV as he is owned by Chelsea and been loaned out to PSV due to work permit issues in the UK......

Chelsea are looking to bring him in during this off season though......Adelaide have just signed a Brazilian defender as reported here on YF, hope they haven't snaffled him out from under our noses....!!!

Doesn't look like a Centre Back either from what I can see, more a Left back.

Did lunatic say he played at PSV or just that he was 'at' PSV.

other brazilians who have played for PSV are :

Vampeta (defender, now 33yrs)
Marquinho (Defender/Mid 26yrs)
Leandro (Mid , 24 yrs)
Claudio (striker)

none of them play there anymore.
ive gone thru most of the records so he cant be a regular starter for them otherwise wed be able to find some info on him. Unless lunatic misspelt PSG for PSV !!! the g is on top of the v on a keyboard (easily done folks!!!) haha.

If it is him, he's pretty highly rated by the FM researcher from Brazil (who is considered the most reliable of worldwide researchers).

Guys the Brazilizn defender had a season in Holland with PSV in either 2000 / 2001 or 2001 /2002, I am not sure.

The issue is now all about money. Not that the money is that huge.

As for the striker I have no idea. The original Brazilian striker named Alex  playing in Greece was cosidered to similiar to Coveney and Brownlie after Ricki saw the dvdhighlights.

Im pretty sure Steve Eagleton got released from the newcastle jets because he wanted more money.
I think the nix should make a effort to get him as he is quick and he is cheap i think he wanted 80k.

Steve Eagleton was on $60,000 AUD  in year 1 and 2 of the A - league.

The Jets offered him $50,000 AUD for a new one year deal.

The offer was withdrawn when he took a month to decide.

At 30 odd years of age and lacking ball control forget him.

Australian Olyroo defender Peter Eleftherakis and Matt Grbejk ( or something like that ) of Melbourne Knights are 20 year old guns.

Even the lad Evan Berger that signed from Nsw State League Club, Marconi  for Melbourne Victory after two training sessions was offered to Pheonix.

Better fullbacks with a future available.

Good point. It could be the French PSV, i.e. Paris Saint-Vermin. Their logo is a rat.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.
