Really? I'd take any of the other one's except Sydney over ours. Perths looks particularly light.

Depends if we keep this trend up of beating the top teams and struggling against the bottom ones.

Depending on how Brisbane rebound from the defeat to us Victory might have a tough run. Brisbane will be desperate to make the six, but then they have significant injuries.

Eh? Ours is one of the toughest; though we've got two of the worst out the way already (Perth/Adelaide)

Perth have WSW twice! WSW have basically thrown in the towel already.

Next 2 games are huge. Win them and we can do a dance.

Lots to play for, exciting times.

It's all about making the top 2.

Beat Sydney twice and it looks possible.

  • Of our 6 losses I would say that 3 of them we were outplayed (Round 4 vs Tards, Rnd 7 vs Perth, Rnd 15 vs Roar)
  • Of the other three, two of them were lost late in the game (Rnd 1 vs Perth, 86th min; Rnd 6 vs AU, 94th min)
  • Of the three draws, we dominated CCM at Eden Park, and Jets at Lower Hutt (despite conceding two early goals), while Jets and City at Lower Hutt were lucky to escape red cards (Jets had one).

We are pretty damn good it must be said!

That surely settles the top 6, City are 5 points clear and face this weakened Brisbane side this weekend.

Now if Brisbane could beat Victory 3-0, it would be awesome.

Who is your favourite movie star?
Will Smith is one of my favourites. I've never had a haircut like he did in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I'm just a simple guy, but I like him in movies and on TV. He's a funny actor.

So unless there's some sort of scandal and the FFA deduct points from us, the Phoenix have officially qualified for the 2015 finals series, along with Melbourne Victory.

Central Coast, Western Sydney, and Newcastle Jets are all officially out of contention now too.

Effectively that result has shut Brisbane out of it as well. Wonder if they're having second thoughts on axing mulvey?

Permalink Permalink

Is it (mathematically) possible for Melbourne City to do a (Manchester) Citeh and botch it up somehow not make the top 6?

Frans Thijssen must just about be a gone burger from the coaching role (they'll move him up stairs).

Ramon Tribulietx should fax his CV over...

This table has excitement written all over the top 5.

I hope we have it all over Sydney today, but if we don't, and Adelaide beat Jets there would be 2pts separating the Top 5.

Permalink Permalink

I just get this feeling that if we do Sydney today, we can lock in a top 2. The distance for the 4th & 5th is too great and Perth are lucky right now (ok last night)
