Its going to be rough - best thing is that Central Coast are also playing Melbourne and Adelaide in their last two fixtures (or so the commentators said).  They'd need to either lose both while we get a draw and a win - if they win either game though it will put them 6 points ahead of us and out of reach.

So that's the equation, either CCM or the Roar need to lose or draw all remaining games while we really must win and win.

4 points would do it providing CCM lose. It's not completely unfeasible. Our home record suggests we have a reasonable chance of upsetting Adelaide. Then if Melbourne win their next two, they would not need any points from us to finish in first, so might not be up for it and allow us to nick a point. And if Queensland keep the pressure on Adelaide so that they need to beat CCM in the final game... a lot of ifs, but not far fetched.

We're still in this. I wouldn't bet too much on us making it, but I think it will likely go to the final week.

Personally I think we're done for in terms of finals football and will quite possibly end the season 6th. But I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Yeah, if I had to bet something really valuable I'd place it against us. But it's not over yet. The only non-football sporting team I follow needed three matches to finish in upsets in the final week to qualify for the playoffs and actually pulled it off, so I'm not giving it up.

We're not out yet. We're effectively playing playoff football from here on in - despite the rhetoric about previous matches being must-win, now they really are (or a win and a draw).

We are not out of it, but we desperately need some  more points out of the next 2 matches to increase our current total of 25, so that we can hold onto 5th or even 6th.

At the moment Perth are leading Melbourne, and have a game against the Jets which must be  a good chance for them, they could get to 25 points with those 2 results, behind us on goal difference at that total though and they finish with the Roar.

Sydney are now 23 points, they have the Roar next and finish with the Jets, winnable, they could end up with 26 points or more.

A lot to play for

Edit Perth win against Melbourne

So we can't finish last! Max jets can get is 21, Perth can potentially get to 28, and Sydney could get to 29.

If we are to keep fifth we still cannot afford to lose. I can't see us winning both games though to finish on 31. Even four points is looking a tough ask. My bet is we finish on 27, be happy with fifth and work on the games we threw points away for next season.

I'd hate to only get two more draws out of this season, let's finish with a respectable victory over one of the two strongest teams.
You know we belong together...

wow I didnt realise how close glory are to us now. if they win and we lose then were equal. atleast a win from one of these matches would be nice.

Fixed, in the cause of blind optimism.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Unless by a miracle we score 15 goals in one game(accounting for goals scored by CCM) we would be GD screwed even if we won both of our next games and they won 1

8 from Smeltz this Sunday - two from the penalty spot, 1 from halfway.
Bertos with the ultimate hatrick - shins, shoulder, nose
Ferrante to have 14 shots from beyond 20 yards. 12 of these to result in a throw in.

Whats more worrying is Perth and Sydney putting points on the table and those teams don't face Melbourne, Adelaide, CCM or us.......

Queensland Roar v Sydney FC

Newcastle Jets v Perth Glory

Queensland Roar v Perth Glory

Sydney FC v Newcastle Jets

We could finish up 7th here lads

Unlikely as it may be, 2 losses for Queensland and 2 wins to Wellington will do it. And will make me very happy on both counts

q'land lose both, ccm lose both, we win both and we could finish 3rd on 31 points, now that would be great, if ccm lose both and we win one and draw one we finish 4th on 29.

as long as we don't lose 5th is fairly safe I think.

I've got a terrible feeling about Sydney. No logic. Completely irrational. But there you go.

Why do we care about Sydney? I gave up caring for them once the last game finished

They're two points behind us, with six points up for grabs.

We care about them potentially coming 5th while we come 6th.

I know and I Still don't care. Only care about those in front of us.
If we don't make the top 4 then I couldn't care less if we were 5th or 6th to be honest - as long as we give it our best shot and don't go with a wimper like the last game.

I guess my glass is half full, compared to those that worry what's coming from behind (so to speak)
I only care what's in front of us.

They are in with a chance.  Remember Dadi and Ruka arn't playing for Perth.
Ideally we want Raw and Noocastle to win.
