Melbourne really showing some good touch lately, 5 wins on the trot I think. Oh how we could do with a run like that ...

So if we win tomorrow we prevent GC from being top as well... valeo2009-10-24 22:32:31

Reds losing was good for us, it means that after this round, the team in 6th place will have 15 points.

We currently sit 5 points behind Adelaide but with 2 games in hand. On current form, we'd claim two out of a possible six points...

CCM losing last night to the Jest wasn't the worst result either, keeps CCM within striking distance. I am worried though, if we just happen to let our guard down one week, we're right at the bottom. That said, we've looked like winning a lot over the past six weeks and not looked like losing too. Sadly these two things aren't the same, but we hope for a Nix win tomorrow!!

nothing is stopping us from moving up the table. And yes Melbourne on really good form at the moment, remember that they started quite poorly and then something clicked, so hopefully we will do that too

Officially bottom of the table unless we beat GCU.

I'm still a bit nutty some would say, and keep hoping the other teams beat the top 4 teams. I still think that's where we should be. I want the 6th place teams to beat the top 4 teams to knock them down. I think we're good enough for a top 4 this year. Definately.

I wonder how many teams in the world have had the fewest losses after 12 rounds and been in last place?

It goes without saying, but what a huge game we have today.

It's a close league, but if we managed to convert all our 'draws' we'd be in fine shape.

Hopefully the wake-up call we need.

Tbh, do you not think some of it may be deserved? You can wrap it up anyway you want, but last after 12 rounds is probably time for some angst to be understandable. After all the talk of fixing our attack we can't average a goal a game. I hope like hell we win today but you can't deny the facts.

Certainly do i'm feeling some angst but I just don't know how we can fix it to be honest, whether its a new coach or new players, maybe all they need is Terry to inspire them like he did last season.

Maybe with a speech that goes something like "If you win, I'll give you all a bonus. If you lose, I'll get Olympic to play for us next week"

I can see the funny side, we've lost only 2 games - the best of the league, yet we are bottom. Where is the logic ?? Well fired up for today, it's sunny and I just found out I have tomorrow off work afterall. Come on Nix, give me something to cheer about and rave on about amongst my work associates.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Big win for us (pun intended)!!!!

The 6-0 really helps out our goal difference, something that perhaps cost us late last season as we chased 4th place (thank the Reds for inflicting that 6-1 loss on us). We were always well behind CCM on that front.

Now we can take a bit of confidence into the game against the Old Bling, and I hope the taste of our last loss makes us even hungrier to put a few past them. Our last performance against them was largely disappointing as we seemed to be playing for 0-0. What happened? We conceded two late ones.

Maybe a draw next week against the Bling might not be the worst result....

But for now, let's savour this win!

We're 7th now, and will be 8th if the Roar win.

That said, we are just 2 points behind Adelaide and have a game in hand. Our GD also means CCM are in sight, and Perth not far away either.
