I guess it depends on the blokes around him and the style of play Ricki adopts this season...

He'd fit in fine, the trouble is he's still contracted in Perth and they have said he's not going anywhere.

Do you think it would be suitable to rush in there and buy him out or just wait another year and bring him in then?

It's the $$ that would be the issue.  We probably need to spend the money on players, rather than a purchase price to help fund our rivals.

Also, I'm not sure if a transfer fee would come out of the cap which we can ill-afford.

I would love to see Leo playing for the Phoenix, and if it isn;t this year it would surely have to be the next.

He may want to, but if the money isn't good enough and he better offers he may well take them.  If they pay Danny $100k and Noah won't come because of $$ that is a disgrace.

Hickey should be considered, but i dont think we should go to extremes to get him, there is talent elsewhere.

Hickey is exactly the sort of player we should sign. he knows whats required. He doesn't give up on the park. He can be a leader to others

at 28 Noah (i think) id rather have bertos.

I would like to have both - Leo for his out and out ability and Noah has that 100% team player feel and heart never say die attitude, remember the better teams have different players to mesh the team together.

Fair enough, but can they both gel in Wellington, i guess its going to come down the roles they play and what sort of football we adopt.

I wouldn't see an issue with making them gel as Ricki likes to play Noah as a right wing back and Leo would generally be left wing forward, I am just hoping we can get these two and other NZ'ers that will make us competitive and not just signing "average All Whites".

Further more to the signing debate I will be very interested to see how many players if at all will be signed from NZFC in the 20 man squad.

23 man squad Skinny - I reckon maybe 3 or 4 - Barron, Allan Pearce, Ben Sigmund maybe an Under 20 - Boxall?

Well the way I see it - if we are going to sign any NZFC players - left sided players are a little hard to come by and he and Neil Sykes are the best left sided players in the league and Syksey is probably a little old.

Anybody else seen this Greek guy (pic to the left) around town yesterday. He would'nt tell me what he was up to but I could guess that Hard News wont be happy to see him.

mate leo bertos is th most talentd and skilful attcking currnt all white and is easily provn 2 b a bttr plyr than hickey although thy play in dffrnt positions, so i dnt kno y ppl a compring leo to noah!! also i personally think that leo wud want to stay at perth 4 anothr year or so, so if we r eva goen 2 c leo bck in action 4 wellington we r goen 2 hv 2 wait afew more years!

Pearce was close to the best on the pitch in the NZFC final, we're going to have to try some players from that level and see if they step up and on displays I've seen this season, and the experience he had in the UK he has to be considered.

Because I had to sit through his lazy performances in a Kingz shirt.  The moment the side goes behind he stops trying and his head drops, and a striker who scores less goals than Paul Urlovic ?

He's not A-League standard.  Melbourne had him in season one and finished 7th, last year they didn't have him and won at a canter.  Sure, there were other factors but don't under-estimate the strength of this one.

Fair enough, as long as theire greek theyre oh k in my books, except hitler, he was a bad greek.
