Main reason for Nix's away form

So if true no All Whites would extend their contracts with the Phoenix while RH is in charge. Has any of the dissatisfided all whites voice this with NZ football as they seem to want to work with RH in the national team. Has any of the disatisfied all white from the world cup since extended their contracts. Has R Nelson publicly talked about RH in an effort to stop his NZF future.

So if that is true (not that I believe it is), a lot of the Ricki Haters (TM) venom against Herbert for not pushing forward for the win harder against Paraguay actually has nothing to do with him. Correct?

Also, if he was so awful that there was a players revolt, I just can't believe that the NZFA is so ignorant of this that they resigned him to coach the National team, and even if they did, that the players involved in the revolt and other senior players would play for him again (at club or country level.)

It's simple.

We've got the following Home and Away records:

Home: Played 9, Won 6, Drawn 1, Lost 2, Goals for 19, Goals against 10.

Away: Played 6, Won 0, Drawn 2, Lost 4, Goals for 3, Goals against 9.

Home home goals for is the second best in the league, behind only the Roar 21 Goals for at home, and the 3rd best in the league is the Jest's 12 goals for at home.

Our away goals for is the equal worst in the league.

We are not scoring goals away from home, and yet we are creaming them at home.

THAT is the reason for our poor away results.

Why are we not scoring goals away from home?

Play the same tactics, the same selections, the same formation away as we do at home... are we doing that?

It's a combination of a lot of reasonably small issues that add up. Partly psychological and support, partly travel fatigue, partly referees give home team the advantage and of course all these things play a part for the opposition team as well which means they play worse than usual when they are here.

Just pay the way we do at home....  wait.
Beat NJets 5-2 and then don't play the same starting eleven next game*...   seems to me the coach has a certain lack of confidence...

+1.Multiple factors contribute. Hostile away crowds must affect their performance.Mobilising and establishing Yellow Fever chapters abroad and identifying the rallying leaders like Ahmed in each location may be a future project for the Nix Nine and YF.A small but potently vocal away contingent in each away game could assist the Nix.
 I don't think poor team selection is a consistent factor away though.
Voted for travel and time difference as I think these are consistent contributing factors.Every time the Nix play away, its later than the NZ normal. The further west they go the worse the effect and there's seldom time to acclimatise for a couple of days prior.The later the start time for the local team the worse it is for Nix players. The worst possible occurrence would have to be Perth v Nix as last game of a 3 games-or-more-in-a-week sequence. At least when the aussie teams come over its playing at an earlier time during normal daylight hours for all of them.

Look at the last Nix away game- v Adelaide.
start time 7pm  = 10 pm NZ time
temp.  33 degrees at kickoff!
The players did bloody well to go the way they did for so long.The body says" the game should be finished by now-how about an ice bath already!!".. the heat is nothing like we have been having here.

Ifill thinks we need an attacking attitude

"Phoenix forward Paul Ifill wants his teammates to have a more attacking attitude on the road and suggested last week that hoping to pick up a point from a draw was not the right attitude to take.

"Let's have a go at going all-out attack on those away games and winning some points."

Ifill said there was no point going away and looking for a point [for a draw]. "We rarely do that anyway. So let's go and try and get three and, if we come away with nothing, we come away with nothing."

I think the travel factor is always underestimated..... remember teams find it equally as tough to come here and win

The stay over in Sydney paid off, certainly counted for something tonight.The Nix played with a lot more commitment, seemed to have more energy and drive.. Manny broke his duck, ..Daniel broke his ton,..
Oh yeah and Phil needs more Retro Ricki's Black Traxedos, (YF new season 12/13 item perhaps??) 'cos he's going to be shipping them to the growing legions of away Nix fans.New "must-have"  away fans formal attire at all away games ftw!!

The wide ranging discussion took in all sorts of topics including air travel, hydration and nutritional tips and ways of getting the best out of players, on and off the field. 

�You can't play every week of the year between February and the end of November,� said Crusaders and All Blacks captain, Richie McCaw.

The meeting was arranged as the Phoenix were going through a horror trot across the Tasman and who better to talk to about getting results than the post-quake Crusaders who didn�t played any games closer than Timaru last year - and still made the final.    

�One of the things we did last year was say we are not a victim this crisis and not have a victim's mentality and go away and play the best that we can, said the Crusaders Daryl Gibson.

In the last fortnight of course the Phoenix have well and truly got rid of their �away-itis�.
