The easiest door to the finals closed last night but we still have paths to the finals, some even lead to 5th on GD. All paths require us to win this game tho.

A must win game! :) This time, when we get a penalty (which we will)- Davila needs to put his ego aside and give Hemed the ball.

2-0 win to the Nix.

hear McArthur are making a 'big' announcement tomorrow... if its Davila right before this game i'll be pissed... may even overtake Western as my new most hated team..

wouldn't surprise me if they try something like that.

That would put even more pressure on the bloke. Two lots of supporters to cheer him on and boo him at the same time, no matter what he does.
And the Mexican supporters in the stands - they would have to just wear the tricolor, and not a combined split Nix/Bulls top.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

If that is the case I hope Talay keeps him on the bench.

We are a much better side than McArthur and we should beat them easily. However it might be too late to get us through.

Seen a bit of Macarthur. Super slow on transitions but defend quite well especially through the middle... If you shut down Beñat and cut off supply to Derbyshire we have a good chance.

Big call that one.  Breaking their defence was a problem for us and they're not up there on the ladder for no reason. Are we better than Perth?  After beating them 3:0 in the 'Gong, yeah sure.  Did we get a result against them last Sunday? Not the one we wanted.

We’re a much better attacking team than we were. Part of our problem is we are two attacking teams- Uli lead or Tomer lead...interesting choices for Uffie.

That's a very good point martinb, but surely we are also a better defending team now with Taylor and Payne as CBs.  I also think Sutton and Fenton are not getting enough respect for the work they do.
Partially the current problem in attack might lie with Ball playing on with an obvious knee injury, and an uncertainty what to do with Ben Waine when we play with Hemed.  Tomer seems to be working well with any of Ball, Sotirio and Piscopo, and by now has a nice thing going with Fenton playing short passes to him high in the "enemy territory".  It is a much more fluid situation with our Davila centred team but if he starts, Waine may actually shine.  But I would be loath to bench Hemed. It may be his last game.

Time to cheer on Western Sydney tonight as our last chance to make the top 6. Only a win by them over Adelaide tonight gives us our chance to make top 6 by then beating McArthur and getting to top 6 ahead of Adelaide on goal difference with 38 points.

Think if we do make top 6 we are capable of beating anyone with it looks like pretty much all our key team being available for selection.

MacBulls 6-1, Season over with nothing to play for as usual cant see the guys lifting there heads for this one. Even Davilla will just coast through this so he gives his new team the advantage.
Bring on next season!

What a blowout. Won't even bother watching the next game. May as well give the reserves and kids a run as it means nothing whatsoever.

I think it will be a tight game at the beginning and then we will blow them off the park in the 2nd half. 9-2 to the nix. COYN!!

why would you not watch tonight? You're saying you only watch the team when they have a chance of being in the finals? What kind of "fan" does that.

Talay has said that he wants to win tonight even if they aren't a chance of getting into the finals. The team deserve our support regardless.

Davila's 50th and maybe (?) final game for the nix, continuation of our unbeaten run (10), make the record 11, still heaps to play for even though it's not finals footy.

Really feels like hes played more. I'm still pissed off he's leaving. I understand it, but it doesn't piss me off any less. We, the fans deserved more, but again, I understand.

Hope we see some 2nd tier players to get a run tonight  as appreciation for their work in training. Sad to see Davilla go, great player, so good to watch, will be a nightmare to play againts him. Talay will find a replacement for Uli, there are more good players out there.
A must win!

McGarry and Rufer deserve good runs. I don't think Uli will be as good elsewhere.

Uli came out of nowhere so I have no doubt the Ufi will find some one else as good if not better. There are literally thousands of players as good who would love to live in Welly.
Keet The Faith (stolen Warriors tag line)

Its no longer a problem.

I have noticed that Ufuk doesn’t do much rotation with players, there never seems to be many changes, if any, to lineups, and he also seems to leave substitutions late. I can’t really remember him using all 5 substitutes, at most 3 and always quite late. In the last 10 games Ridenton (0), Hudson-Wihongi (0), Muratovic (0), McGing (0), Lokoli-Ngoy (24) and Rufer (169) have played collectively 0.03% of available minutes. The only real time I remember Ufuk doing proper rotation and surprising with lineups was after the restart last season, and we saw that Callan Elliot, who likely would have not been given a run, was a revelation and ended being someone we didn’t want to see leave.

Yeah, this is the one thing he has to improve on. We left subs late v WU when we were 3-0 up. I think him not rotating has contributed to quite a bit of fatigue.

We just don't have the depth in the squad, all games have been fairly close in the run in and we needed points out of all them.

We also haven't had the ability for our players to drop down to get game time or have promising youngsters to call upon, which other clubs have been able to do.

Game on 15th March against WSW (that exciting 4-3 loss) Talay made a host of changes from the game prior. Including Waine's first start this season, Hemed's first appearance, Rufer as a RB (Fenton suspended?).

From memory was part freshen up/rotation (Nix were travelling alot), and part mixing things up/trying something different.

The only thing worse than Davila taking a pen in this match and missing would be him burying it. I can't think of anything more depressing.

I can't remember a game I've looked forward to less...

Hopefully Ben Old gets a start or decent minutes, to provide something interesting about the match.

It will also be worth watching if Rufer scores his first goal, it has to happen one day right?

Does this game have any bearing on our FFA cup draw and what round we enter at?

Ben Old's on the bench for Lower Hutt at Fraser Park tonight, unfortunately.
