Our off season recruitment was awful.  None of the new players is better than anyone they replaced.  I know the reasons for that (covid, budgets etc) but it's pretty clear why we are where we are

Saying you can't go back and give a player a yellow card for a professional foul after advantage has been played has to be the stupidest rule I've ever seen in football.

It just tells players to go around pulling shirts to slow down the attack without consequence.

Shirt pulling is constant this season. Really annoys me. Refs are beginning to ignore it even if it's done in non-advantage situations.

Perfect example there of Davila being blatantly held back when a potential chance was opening up.

Apart from the crap shooting I think we haven't been so bad this half, although probably says more about how bad MV are. Basically two corners have cost us.

I would blame the goal keeper but the Victory scorer was left unmarked

even with this doom and gloom, I am impressed that our reserve players can not only fit it with the impressive WSW team, but also back it up here. We are only be 2 set piece goals down and haven't been opened up. While the offence is an issue, we don't look that vulnerable at the back which is a good take away

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Davila has actually been pretty great this half. His close ball control is fantastic.

MV are a pretty crap team though. We should be doing much better.

When you say not that vulnerable do you mean excluding the two goals which have won them the game?  Seems an issue to me...

Davila has been great, and putting in a huge effort, feel sad for him results aren't going better and is being professional fouled out the match half the time.

Melbourne also played on Sunday and are injury depleted (more so than us) and terrible.

And this is largely their reserve team!

They haven't stopped trying. I like that.

Can remember many a Nix side from years past giving up the ghost far too easily.

Davila is too good for this team to be honest, we are pretty crap this season, it happens. I dont think any of our current players or combinations can change that.

We look better with two strikers up top, NGOY actually looks to take players on which we need.

Waine's work rate is huge, but he isn't getting any service, although I think he is playing to create space for Davilla as opposed to looking to get shots on himself.

We have conceeded 5 or 6 goals from set pieces this year and scored one. If we can't learn to defend them and make more of our chances then this will be our season.

ball alongside waine next game will be better for waine.  Marutovic is terrible.   Surely be better putting time into Sutton over him
