Everyone got over 7 at least. Dodd had a shacky start but was solid towards the end. Paston just shows it doesn't matter who we play in goal. Smeltz speaks for himself and his goal was the turning point in the game.
Johnson - 6.5 - Still not happy with him starting ahead of Ferrante, his positioning and distribution is not as good as it once was, he should also learn the speech before stumbling through the attributes of fair play.
Yeah WTF were those speeches about? We expect footballers to speak now? it seemed totally pointless, and even the players seem to be amused by it.
Worse than asking boxers for a coherent explanation of their performance.
I was surprised at how average they were at reading.
They kept stumbling and making mistakes.
And it ended up to be a game that wasn't very fair at all.

It happened last year as well. Its just a lame way to try and promote fair play. I doubt anyone was actually listening.

First of all wasnt it fantastic to watch the nix flying into tackles all over the pitch.
Paston - 8 - good in the air, better (faster distribution)
Muscat - 7 - looked hungry, still room to improve but got involved
Sigmund - 8 - isnt a right backs ar$% H*&e but at center back wow, showed everyone the form that got him a contract

Dodd - 6.5 - thought he did well but at times got lost positionaly (eg the goal)
Lochhead - 7 - much the same as muscat, better, hungier well be better agin next week
Lochhead - 7 - much the same as muscat, better, hungier well be better agin next week
Gao - 7 - fantastic first half, but nothing 2nd
Brown - 9 - should have been captian with the leadership he showed yesterday. not the best but the most determined
Johnson - 6. - was better tonight but still not good enough, tough i know but the worst player for the nix
Johnson - 6. - was better tonight but still not good enough, tough i know but the worst player for the nix
Kwasnik - 7.5 - so happy for him, looked like he wanted it, good touch and looked for the ball, will get better, like to see him run at players more
Smeltz - 8 same old smeltz, great goal worked hard, gave sydney grieve almost everytime.sign sign sign
Covs - 6.5 - thought he worked hard, does alot of the ball, must start
Subs:
Christie - 7 - came on got involved, bit of anger showen good on him
Ferrante 5 - didnt think it was the right sub, still not convincing
This will now be the real test for Ricky! Never change a winning team!

Paston - 8 - He dominated the box, was solid in the air and organised the defence very well, unlike Mossy he wasn't sent into all those spectacular saves, who are we gonna start next week??
Muscat - 8.5 - At times when he was getting forward I thought he was bertos (skin tone, lack of hair etc.) but of course super Leo wasn't playing and it was simply a matter of Manny getting forward incredibly well to fill the right flank. Because of this go-forward attitude I expected Bling to be all down that side but no, he also got back time and time again to defend solidly.
Siggy - 8.5 - Solid all game and defended with his head and his heart beutifly, kept us strong in the final 15.
Dodd - 8.5 - "Who let the Dodd Out" sounded great and he was superb, solid just like Siggy, brought the ball out of defence well and played some great passes.
Lochhead - 8 - Nearly back to the form that had him as one of my favourite players last year, classy going forward, some nice crosses and he got back well do defend. Maybe he should lose half a point for not helping us out when he jogged past during our game against the Cove.
Brown - 9 - Showed why I've been saying he should start ever since he returned from injury, tackled and fought well in midfield, some nice passes, didn't get carded, and scored a great goal after coming on Terry Butcher style. Should have been captain methinks.
Johnson - 6.5 - Still not happy with him starting ahead of Ferrante, his positioning and distribution is not as good as it once was, he should also learn the speech before stumbling through the attributes of fair play.
Gao - 8 - Showed some real class with his runs, but wasn't given an awful lot of support at times. He was the inspiration that turned it around for us, and he doesn't even speak the language. Very well done Leilei.
Kwasnik - 7.5 - Was good getting forward, beating players and crossing, he was roobbed of a goal but played well throughout. Play him wide, and he'll play well.
Smeltz - 8.5 - Another game, another goal. He also ran harder than I've ever seen before.
Coveny - 6.5 - Not much to say really, I barey noticed him, but he didn't do anyhting wrong either.
Subs
Ferrante - 7 - Maybe not the best option when we had Daniel on the Bench, but he did better then Johnson or the man he replaced - Coveny.
Plodder - 7.5 - Ran hard and looked hungry. He seems very desperate to get back in the staring lineup.
Ricki Herbert
Dealt well with all the absences, but once again some whacky substiutions - an 8 from me.
But I think the successfull thing about these is that they were much better timed. He didn't wait until they had gone ahead or regained momentum and then sub. He subbed when he could see that Covs and Gao were flagging, and you have to say the changes worked, even if they wouldn't have been expected. Particularly in terms of keeping sustained possesion and moving it from midfield.
