Does anyone know of anymore details about this (not much on the Nix website at the moment)?

Start time, finish time, activities etc?

Kids are keen as to go (following the Sunday football game) but also need to juggle other things.

Come and see behind the scenes at Westpac Stadium - the player's tunnel, changing rooms, and down on to the magnificent playing surface. Players and coaching staff will be there for photos and autographs.

Wonderful!  Thanks for that Feverette.

I manage my son's and daughter's teams and shamelessly plug the nix to the parents.  Will pass this info on too.

Cheers

Do you think Bevan should shave his pussy in summer when it gets hot?

Same as last two years I presume, straight through the main gates, and player are spread throughout the stadium and on a bit of the pitch.
You know we belong together...

PHOENIX FAITHFUL TURN OUT EN MASSE

Wellington

IF the turnout at Wellington Phoenix FCs annual family day is any indication, the club is in for a huge Hyundai A-League 2009/10 season.

More than 3000 fired-up Phoenix fans attended the special event at the clubs home ground, Westpac Stadium the excitement and anticipation palpable exactly one week out from the Phoenixs first game of the new season.

Phoenix fans of all ages had the chance to meet the players and coaches, go behind the scenes at the clubs magnificent home venue and take part in a range of fun activities.

The annual event has proven extremely popular during the Phoenixs short Hyundai A-League history, with Phoenix players relishing the chance to interact with the strong support base in Wellington.

For new Phoenix strikers Chris Greenacre and Paul Ifill, both from England, the big day out was a real eye-opener.

I was absolutely blown away; the whole event was magic, said Greenacre. To see so many fans clearly so passionate about the Phoenix was something really special. We play for the fans and its fantastic to know theyre all right behind us. From little children to adults, everyone is so supportive.

Ifill, formerly of English Premier League club Sheffield United and Championship club Crystal Palace, was staggered by the reception from the Phoenix faithful.

Even in England, where football is obviously the biggest game going, you dont experience this level of support. Often as professional players we dont get the opportunities to connect directly with the supporters, so this was amazing to be part of.

The Phoenix begin their Hyundai A-League 2009/10 campaign away to the Newcastle Jets on Sunday before returning home to Wellington to prepare for what will be a huge first home game against Perth Glory at Westpac Stadium on Sunday, August 16.

Phoenix chief executive Tony Pignata said the turnout at the family day was confirmation of the strong and growing support for the club.

Every year this event seems to get bigger and bigger and its great for the fans and the players to get together. You can really feel that the excitement from the players and the fans is hitting top gear.

Our third season in the competition will be the biggest and best yet and everyones champing at the bit to get things under way.

3k is an excellent turnout considering the coolish wind. Was awesome to meet the players and catch up with familiar faces. Just resizing some more photos to go up on here.

You were the guy with the camera? Nice.
A very enjoyable day, great chance to meet all the players etc.

Me and a few friends attempted to go up to the Phoenix lounge near the end, to see if there were any players who were willing to give signatures etc. We were told by a security lady that we were off limits, and she tried to close the doors to the Phoenix lounge and shoo us away. However, Iffil saw what was happening, came out and waved away the security lady then signed autographs for us. Greenacre and Durante soon followed suit.

Big ups Paul!

As the report from Piney said, our new players were quite surprised by the turnout. They know now to give it their very best and they will hear the fans in the stands at the games giving them our best vocal support. win win for everyone!
