Dodd and Moss are the only ones that I thought had a good game. Great penalty save by Mossy - Ufuk fuked up by stuttering.

Mossy was awesome as ever - Dodd also worked very hard all night. Smeltzy looked done in nearer the end, but was still trying to get the ball.   Time for a poll for worst player of the season - there'd be no contest, and you know who you are!

I voted for Lochhead. He seems to get stuck into everything and was pissed off when they scored.

Moss for me, he never lets us down!!  And to save a penalty....AWESOME!!!  Shame we didn't use the platform from that to score one ourselves......

Great moment that penalty save. Bill stood up and said, in a very matter of fact voice, "he'll save it". Then Mossy saved it and the little kid behind us says to his dad "how did that man know?".
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Mossy for me - except for the one time he went for the ball and missed by the proverbial country mile he had a good game.

Dodd had a solid game as well.

Besides that no one stood out.........

Im not a complete idiot, some parts are missing!

Mossy for me closely followed by Dodd.  Mossy's penalty save was fantastic!  Was disappointed with Felipe's game tho. Brilliant crowd, gutted at the result but we just didn't play well enough.

I vote for Mossy who I think has been one of the Phoenix's best players this season.  Our defence for some reason was one of the best areas on the park last night despite losing two goals with Dodd being a rock in the heart of the defence and Lochead who wears his heart on his shirt with his tireless runs and a commitment to the game.

For me, noone really stood out in midfield which failed to support the forwards sufficiently and didn't seem to link up well together.  It seemed to fall apart even more when Christie and Aloisi came on and not sure if this was a mistake by Herbert bringing these guys on as it seemed to have disrupted the rhythm of the game and resulted in 2 goals being conceded.  Elrich for me was utterly useless, he looks awkward and clumsy on the ball; he feigns left and right but forgets where the ball is and just gives it away in his haste.  His crossing is poor and his wide position requires him to deliver accurate crosses into the box where Coveny and Shmeltz could latch on to them.  He gave the ball away too often when we had an opportunity to really attack the goal ,also, he is lazy at chasing back.  Ricki, please get rid of him!

As for the forwards, Coveny had another great game I thought and does his job well.  Shmeltz didn't have his best game and looked like he was giving up at one point (perhaps he was pissed off with the service he was receiving from his midfield and...ahem..Elrich).

I didnt think moss was all that good, maybe at fault for second goal. i think he should have come for the ball, but havnt seen any replay yet. my vote went to dodd who was bloody outstanding considering hes just back from virus.

I thought Dodd was the best as he was solid in defence and I can only think of once were he let someone get in behind him unfortuntly that led to the second goal.

my vote went to Covs - impressed by the way Sydney surrounded Smeltz / Felipe whenever they got the ball (and basically kept them out of the game).

Overall WP looked much more mature against an in-form side - there were no 'easy' goals, altho' on the first goal there was poor marking for the short corner; the second goal was real class.

Moss is amazing.

But I thought Ferrante was solid too, easily our best midfielder last night.

I voted for Dodd, thought he had a good game despite the fact he was woefully caught out for their 2nd goal.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Moss, you guys have to be joking. Sure he saved a penalty but most keepers would save more of those than Moss has let in this season so thats no big deal. Watch the 2nd goal, he was like a policeman directing traffic. The stats someone posted in another thread earlier this week show that he's had a very poor season. Hopefully we get someone better for next season.

Glad to see Elrich finally given plenty of quality ball to work with, damm pity he didnt have a clue what to do with it.

Alosi, goodby. What was he thinking of with that tackle. Try that in capital 13 and you'd be the one going home in the amblance mate.

keep waiting for your opportunity to bag him before the end of season Knightzz - but you are a bit premature trying to pull it out on this game

anway - Moss and Dodd and no one else remotely close

Mossy of course.
As for Bloodout bloody Ahmed I hope they got a good return policy because he is crap. He was just outright lazy last night. Coveney played well and Smeltz was knackered near the end and real pissed at the service e was getting I think.

Yep, I have to agree with that. Very unlikely to find many who agree with these sentiments about Elrich or Moss.

Question I have is why does Elrich always look so pissed off when he gets subbed off...??

What is this post evenhere for? Man of the match was us. End of. To sing when you're losing is a difficult thing, something the Evertonians have got really good at.       For me,last home game of the season, that was a disgrace. No heart, and no idea.

How can you even treat the loyal Wellies by putting a performance like that in?  Aloisi got it spot on 5 mins after coming on. That's why I applauded him.Only one with a bit of fire and hurt in him.    Lockhead only started sweating in the showers, Old just is,way before his time, Coveny and Elrich were too lethargic, and Moss gets to see the ball too much for me.
Mom DEFO US,FOR SINGING TIL WE LEFT.

That's not a bad overall summary.I would have liked to have seen a real passionate, hard-out game where the 'Nix played as though everything was at stake (and it was). Pretty gutting when there's this kind of limp 'caving-in'. One of the least memorable performances by the team this season.

Yeah I thought Moss should have done a lot more with the second goal. The scoring shot was struck INSIDE the 6 yard box and Moss had not come off his line whilst the ball was played forward from near halfway.

Moss is a great shot stopper but has some weaknesses in his positional play.
Having said that, Phoenix would be bottom of the league without him.
