Please wait for the game to vote - otherwise you get an uppercut.
Also NO VOTING FOR 80min SUBS (unless they get a match winning hatrick)

Look at all the people who have voted. Maybe you should start these threads at halftime Feverish.

Yes, it's always struck me as odd how people start a man of the match thread before kickoff (well before kickoff to be honest) and then threaten people with an uppercut if they vote before the end of the game.

Couldn't you always open a poll after the match?

Man - Ferrante is playing up to his usual standards (surely a less than 100% fit Brown has got to be better than him) - and we are missing both Daniel and Felippe bigtime, no one is standing up to them especially there youngsters who have scored both there goals - great talent coming through, maybe in time Costa, Draper and Spoonley will be just as good...cmon the nix!chareimos2007-10-06 00:03:23

We've looked sh*t so far. Clearly lacking any attack in the absence of Daniel. Difficult to pick a man of the match at this point.

Yeah...not really sure about the MOM. I guess Smeltz for that one good run - was the only good thing all game.

game over - Ferrante the best tonight in a disapointing performance.  Every thing we did well, he was heavily involved in.

Can only count on one hand (or half a hand) the things we did well though, unfortunately.

Shocking performance. Ferrante was the only thing remotely half decent. Don't get why everyone is voting for George, he's  joke.

big problem for us was the lack of shape, we had no wingers at all, no idea what Herbert had in mind when he effectively picked 4 central midfield players, 2 forwards and no wingers. Things will turn around quickly once Daniel returns and gives us some more natural width (esp. if Elricha lives up to expectations and gives us options down the right).

chose Aloisi - trying to hold together a team who weren't playing well ....

Ferrante. Best of a bad bunch.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I don't think George did diddly squat and I'm struggling to see why this forum is so enamored with him and can understand why Ricki has not started/played him much.

I thought Paladini looked sharp when he came on (was it?)  in the Newcastle home game - and seemed to inspire a bit of spirit that time in that game - but he didn't do much last night

that was a night to forget

( I thought Felipe got kicked all over the field and eventually got kicked off it - maybe he should be MOM for being wounded in action)

- a couple of hard ones coming up and lets hope the lads can pull somethng extra out-

Ferrante gets my vote

think Smeltzy played really well, although I'm not too sure about the formation with him playing on the wing and Coveny center striker. I liked it better the old way..but let's Ricky do what he thinks best.

 agreed! .....

But yeah, ferrante was the best by far. I think the formation was  all wrong, but cant think of what else riki could have gone with, with the players available to be honest

The less said about that performance the better. Most of it was pretty dreadful, and the only positives I noticed are listed below:

1. When the Phoenix got their first shot of the game and it came from Ferrante. There was a great build up to that shot.
2. When Karl Dodd knocked one of the Roar's teenagers into the billboards and kept playing.
3. When Smeltz was given the goal even though it was clearly deflected in off a Queensland defender, and if that defender wasn't there the shot would have been saved.
4. Smeltz is now top scorer in the A-league equal with Bruce Djite.
5. The look on Liam Ready's (spelling?) face when we scored.loyalgunner2007-10-06 15:52:43

On those points.

2.  While they were kicking the crap out of Felipe I was genuinely surprised that Ross and Co. didn't start doing the same to Clogs kiddies.  The ref wasn't helping so maybe if the filthy t**sers among the Queensland players had seen their own kiddies getting kicked back they might have pulled their heads in.

5.  I would hope Reddy has a case to answer for after the goal, where he pretty much flattened someone (I think George) as he went to get the ball.

How's my driving? - Whine here

I think smeltzy gave the best performance of anyone, he ran the whole 90 odd minutes and displayed some good skill and intention to go forward and get the attack moving, ferante distributed averagely which is his job and he did not have the creative spark we needed last night, but in saying that he did play better than many others.

On an off note how great was that shoulder Dodd hit Kruse with, welcome to the a-league buddy.
Also anyone else notice reddy get that sly hit in on Paladini after the goal? same old Aussies ay.

Ya. I was sure that was a yellow. It wasn't quite as bad as Zidane, but still. He looked pissed.

Tbh i dont see why you are having a dig at George when everyone played shiete.

Ferrente probably pick of the bunch, but no one did anything that made the team lift, aprt from the goal and that came to late.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

I havent seen it properly - but if the ball was travelling towards the goal when it was struck and it deflects then it is still credited to the player. So judging by what you say, it was goal bound when it came of Smeltzies foot, thus not an oggy. Anyway who gives a crap

When he flattened George there was nothing in that. He stood up and started bellowing at his defence and it looked like George ran into him. If I was a ref I wouldn't give a yellow for that.

My votes for Moss. Overall uninspiring effort from the guys, but was impressed by a couple of of his saves- couldn't do a helluvalot to stop their two goals- one a brilliant shot the other man down defending.
