Hard to choose though Smeltz was good.

played absolutely awful. when the first goal was scored they sat back and allowed the roar to do what they wanted. midfield was absolutely dire, no-one to hold onto the ball and pass it around... all in all one of the worst performances

Went for Bertos, who looked good when on attack. Nice cross for the 2nd goal. Muscat was good until he started to tire and Oar went round him. Also thought Durante was good, despite getting sent off.

Muscat. I think he played great football for at least 75'. Both Mc Kain and Dodd looked a bit shaky today. Durante did Ok but got sent off (his first foul resulting in a booking was silly in my opinion, as the man he tackled was never going to get to the ball).

Bertos did OK but on and off. Smeltzy worked very hard but didn't have too many chances to do anything. Brown ran heaps but God he butchered a counter attack in the second half where any other Nix player - not including Dodd - would've at least worked the keeper.

After running his arse off following Zullo all over the pitch, Muscat had to fight Oar and he did that well. He got beaten a few times but Oar only broke loose once or twice. His goal is not related to Muscat's marking.

Muscat today. Fouled Oar in twice in the last 5 but never beaten

I went for Muscat. Marked Zullo out of the game.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

tough call, most played ok. Manny for me though, he had the toughest assignments all night, with Zullo and the Oar to mark.

Manny for me, one of his best games i thought plus the rest were average!

I thought Lochead was superb at the back, so went for him. Muscat was good until he started getting tired, and then he was giving away too many fouls that were putting pressure on us.
Bertos was the best going forward.

Not knocking your choice of MOM, EG but I did smile when I read that Muscat was ".........putting pressure on us". I would have thought that Lochhead's f**k-up that led to the 3rd goal could be described as putting pressure on us, possibly for the rest of the season.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

In the same way Muscat allowed cross after cross to come from his side, one of which ended up in our net, 3-4 of which Lochead had to clear out under immense pressure from the back post?

Yep, Lochy losing the ball was stupid, but overall, he was the best defensive player we had on the park. IMO.

Would have gone for Lochead but his lapse at the end cost us the game. Sure Muscat got beaten a couple of times by Oar who was outsdtanding when he came on but up until then he was better than most, not a high standard admittedly.

Durante did well and only got sent off because Dodd and Lochead left him totally exposed.

Midfield were out totally played.

Only saw bits of the match as at work, but muscat looked ok in a pretty average performance by the team. Moss looked really out of sorts and really small in goal!

yeah thats the one place moss is lacking the high ball. hes a better shot stoper than paston but paston is much better under the high ball. because of this i'm not too cut up about moss leaving, cos having new zealands 2 best keepers playing for the same club means one of them won't play and that's definitely not good

Hearfield for me.

Had a few good runs and had obviously been taking turning lessons from Smeltzy, and of course, he scored a goal

Meh the team was so bad that its a hard one, has to be Muscat or Bertos.  Not Hearfield, made some decent runs but he is still blind.  He got a lucky goal that was helped in by Reddy.  Was a stunning cross by Bertos.  I'll go leo

Lochy

He most likely would've got the ball back if Durante hadn't fouled the QLD player - though Durante couldn't really take that chance really.

The midfield should be disappointed - they were atrocious.

Yeah we need a more consistent midifeld, lets sign up Elliott.

He was exposed for the first one (Dodd, what were you doing), but Lochy had tracked back well (although he had given the ball away rather stupidly and needlessly) for the second.

Despite that, Durante showed very poor technique when faced with a ball-runner in front of him. He gets too squared on and flat footed, and gives himself little chance to recover once beaten, hence the fouls. I'd noticed this earlier as well as his tendency to get muscled off the ball too easily for a centre-back, so maybe his suspension next week isn't the worst thing. Hope Siggy will be back by then.

I still don't rate Muscat. He gets caught out far too often for my liking (though I do think he did a good job up until about the 75th/80th min mark). Guess he's the best choice that we have at the moment though.

...crikey... I must have seen a different match....
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Muscat played well, he had the two most difficult players to mark the entire game - Zullo in the first half ran him ragged and then the spritly Oar comes on and takes advantage of a tiring manny.

As for Dura - seeing the replays, neither time did he consider going for the ball, first foul, Dodd left him alone, but instead of going for the ball he sets himself up to hit the runner, 10 yards before the arrives - number 2 very similar, clearly his first thought was to foul instead of making an effort for the ball!!! Stoooopid play!

i thought manny played really well, he did a good job of containing Zullo. Everyone's saying about Durante's sending off that it was alright and he had to do it, but Lochhead had got back well and could have made the tackle

Bollocks. Manny worked harder and made far less expensive cock ups!

So Muscat's error which contributed to a Queensland goal is nothing really, and Lochead's mistake which indirectly led to a goal is the worst piece of defending in the history of the game?

Get yourself an uppercut. Or two. Or a few hundred, you badly need them.
