+1

Durante > Craig Moore yesterday...and long may it continue.

I know Greenacre is getting all the love here and he looks like he is going to be a cracking striker...was so stoked when he got the equaliser...but before that..

He got into some good positions up until he got the goal, but really should have done better. There was a ball he didn't get to at the back post, a header he couldn't direct into the corners...

I guess with Smeltz he scores almst every opportunity and doesn't necessarily pop up that much in between...

Great result in Brisbane against a very capable team...

I don't think Greenacre was the best Phoenix player on the park on Sunday. I'm probably asking for abuse here because so many people have voted for him... Nicely taken goal. But I'm not sure about him so far. Actually, before he scored I was getting a bit annoyed with him... I hear a lot of talk that he "runs a lot". Yea, well I do agree with that. Maybe that's what we need? but I didn't think he was that great (apart from the goal).

I agree with you and martinb on this - up until the goal, I was getting a bit frustrated with Greenacre. Was struggling to hold the ball up, didn't seem to be anticipating/reading the game well, and generally seemed one step behind play. But his commitment can't be faulted, and the goal was pure quality. That was a very difficult header and he did extremely well with it.

Greenacre is never going to be the most skilled player on the pitch - he's there to pop up with those goals and he's already done it twice.

One thing that frustrates me about him is that it seems like he always goes up for headers but he's often an inch too short to reach it.

I voted for Daniel for the perfect cross into the box for Greenacre to run into.

Daniel - That cross was so pin point that Greenacre could've closed his eyes and still scored.

Having said that Greenacre & Ifill have both been revelations for us this year, even after only 3 games.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

being at the game i thought iffal was quality, his touch and his movement was top notch, he was also the one that drew a few cards from them.
as for those people giving rikki the thumbs up for changing the formation at 1/2 time, shouldnt we be giving him stick for it instead?he played that formation against the jets and we got pumped, yet he decided to use it again away at the roar!STUPID!iffal and greenacre are looking good upfront together dont change it!even if we are away from home.

Paston was quality in organising the defencing and his communication, not to mention his 1on1 save.
and i love the shift greenacre put in, he is going to get a few this year!
top team effort to fight back and dominate the way they did, come on the nix!

Ifill was sheer class again, accelerating past Roar players as if they were rooted to the spot.  His persistence, energy and skill for the majority of the match gets my vote.

Worked though didn't it? If Ryan Nelsen had one shocker for the All Whites it wouldn't mean Ricki should never try him again, if we decided never to use 442 again we would be tactically f**ked.
You know we belong together...

So Ricki is stupid for making a change that worked (against a completely different team) because it hasn't worked in the past? What the hell?

as per usual 2ndbest was right i was still drunk(but i was on holiday, and my learing difficulty got in the way, what i ment was why did he start with thye 451, and then have to change to 442? i think the 442 is the best for us thus far(or whatever formation as long as we have 2 upfront, namely,Iffal and greenacre up front)

Not me, but he did have a good game in a match where no one really stood out.
