Bertos for me.

this is a tough one for me considering the poor start but will give it to greenacre for the goal and he seemed as though he ran all night long.

great call from Ricki at half time to change to 442. opened the wings right up

Greenacre solely for nailing that header while falling backwards... legend

Greenacre for me, the goal and his endless running, a great buy I think.

My vote went to Greenacre.  Still can't believe Ferrante missed that shot at the start of the second half.  Muscat was below average once more.

No standouts. Bertos continues to cause the most trouble for other team. Did it again, gets my vote

No one stood out - Greenacre for a great finish - getting enough on the ball to beat the keeper with a header while falling backwards - that's a very good strikers finish.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Lia made a big impact on the game I thought.

That ball was the single best thing he's done in twelve months (Daniel), it's the start of the renaissance... Lochy on the way as well.

Ricky for growing some and changing the tactical approach at halftime. That won us the point.

Individually Leo was consistently a threat, Ifill was much more effective as a forward in the second half, and Greenacre's finish was not easy, and he did very well with it. Paston's save in the first half was crucial. My vote goes to Leo, once again, although this was more of a team performance.

Daniel made the cross too greenacre, played really well in the time he had. Greenacre for MOM though, he seemed to go looking for the action, deserved the goal.

Tougher decision this week, which is a good thing.

Ifill, Bertos and Greenacre all worked hard and showed a lot of skill.
Ifill is class and when he loses the ball gets back for it, great signing.
SuperLeo drew a lot of attention and should win us a lot of freekicks and the other team plenty of cards this season. Often got away from three players with the ball at his feet and is proving a real handfull for opposition defences.
Greenacre runs his nads off and as long as he isn't left alone up front for too long he'll shine. very well taken goal.

Gave Bertos my vote for being the most constant threat and putting up with some very rough treatment. Malcom  Tiatto  and Kruse

I thought that playing 4-4-2 in the second half made a big difference to the game and arguably I thought we had done enough in the second half to take all the points. Manny had a dreadful start and wasnt too impressed with lochhead either both seemed a bit short of pace against the Brat Pack but full marks to the team for the never say die attitude ......so glad we never signed that petulant s*** Krusepaullt2009-08-23 20:21:05

Think I'd give Ricki the vote if I could, but locky and manny both did good work going forward and were better at the back this week I thought - not that they were candidates for MOM

but my vote for Ifill - given the avalanche already going Greenacre's way

Bertos... Greenacre scored but Bertos was influential throughout the game, where Greenacre drifted in and out. Stoked the Phoenix played well

I voted for the goalie
one on one save kept us in it and he actually got off his line and caught the ball twice I reckon
the goalie from last year was better
but this was a clear improvement on his first two games

Lia and Sigmund good stuff.
McKain and Durante better
fullbacks still a bit of a worry in option taking
like to see Costa play
front two have highish work rate
but we still need a bit o' class to put the ball in the right place

anyway good point , last 25 was all about the Phoenix, I doubt we say this before about them v Roar before eh?

Me too. And you're right, there weren't any standouts. Bertos was pretty well contained/hacked down most of the game and much of his dead ball work was sub par (one area where he needs to improve).

Greenacre didn't get much quality ball at all, but his ability to hold up the ball is not as good as Judas's was anyway. Still, he took that single chance he got beautifully.

Thought our back four did well overall to keep a very attacking Brisbane at bay. I don't even blame Durante and Lochhead too much for losing Henrique a few times because he is one slick customer.

Moss makes saves like that and is a hero, the least we can do is give Pasty some love for getting out to it.

er, I thought he went well, and a clear improvement on his first two outings.
and he made a one on one save when we were 1 down therefore keeping us in the game.

should I PM you before making any more suggestions/opinions for vetting?

Greenacre seemed to run run run which when paired with Ifill, will be very dangerous

This coming from a man who doesn't give the MVP to the player who scored a hattrick in one of the most important games of the season.

Paston got himself in the exact spot he needed to be when it was clear it was going to be a 1-1 situation, and came within 5 inches of taking a falcon for his effort.  Having resigned myself to 2-0 about three seconds earlier I reckon he did bloody well and deserves the cred.

I picked Daniel for a more concerted effort into being in the right place more frequently, looking around a lot more when passing, and a quality cross - yes greenacre was falling backwards when heading it forwards, but if the cross had been closer to goal it would've been punched away.

Didnt think he could do much about it. He could have tried to stop the cross I suppose but Henrique use his pace to get in front of him and any tackles would have been risky in the box. Could easily argue that Sigmund (if he was marking van Dijk) allowed his man to get in front of him. I think it was a really good move by Brisbane.

Whilst not the MOM Vince Lia is looking good isn't he?
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Greenacre for sure, a true striker, love it.

Honorable mention to Leo and Ifill. Great save by Paston.

Feverish is always full of hate for Paston. Also out of all the threads he could make that stupid comment he chose to make it in here...

Good to see Mrs Ferrante keeps coming to the party to give her boy Micky a vote each week.

As cultured as Che Bunce's left foot and as profilic as John Lammers
