Tough one. Was between Ifill, Manny and Leo for me. I picked Leo just because it was probably his best performance of the season. Manny and Ifill are consistently great.

Siggy for me. He just keeps getting better and better at the back. He is ALWAYS there. And he is pushing forward well more and more. He's a caped all action hero.

I thought Alex Smith had a particularly good game too today. But I struggled to say anyone wasn't very good today. I thought the goal we conceded was soft, but it was an anomaly in an otherwise very encouraging team performance. Downey was very good too when he came on, and how good would it have been if that free kick from Daniel had gone in.

I was stoked to seen Greenie's header go in too. So many knockers silenced right there. Leo ran, and took on his man, AND beat him, AND put in a great cross, and Greenie headed it home. BOOYA!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Poor old Daniel must be wondering what he's done wrong. A few games ago he was starting and in excellent form...topping the A-League assists table. Now he has only had about 15 mins in the last 2 games.

Alex Smith was excellent...he can actually recieve and pass in the one motion. Plus his heading ability is a real asset.

Sanchez to me is not a winger....he's a central midfielder...he looks a little lost out wide.

Stunning assist from Leo....straight out of the textbook for wing play, i hope he is not badly injured. Lovely finish from poacher Greenacre. If he got that service every week he would have a bundle of goals

Agree with most of this except the Downey bit. I thought he was a fish out of water (well, position) on his D duties.

I honestly have no idea, can't seperate anyone. Therefore I give it the man who traveled the most miles - Manny.

Manny for flying over especially. Keep that kind of behaviour up and in a couple of years he'll be getting himself a statue.

Thought that Leo and Ifill were great too though. Ifill for the goals obviously and Leo seems to be back to the "old leo". I think putting his body on the line like he did makes that pretty clear.

+1.

Cant believe Leo is getting so much love ... thought he was rubbish apart from the one run.

Alex Smith got my vote - if he performs like that every week lock him in for next season.

He seems keen to be at the club and wants to prove his worth (sadly I can see him getting benched for Lia next week if Lia is 100%). He worked hard, won the ball, distributed it and seemed to be popping up everywhere in the defensive and central thirds of the park.

He was no where to be seen when Terra and Babalj broke through for their goal. I do agree though that this has been his best season yet.

I vote Leo today.

Was actually thinking the same thing about Smith actually, I seem to see a lot more when I watch the game at home on TV than when I'm in the fever zone.

Manny was excellent today, voted for him purely because of his mad dash to make the game and still play very well.

Ifill is a class player in this league even when he's not 100%, and I think he's finally getting somewhere close to that.

Downey, I have to say, looked by far the worst player on the pitch when he came on - he looks extremely uncomfortable every time the ball is anywhere near him.

why not Cam Lindsay ahead of Downey?

Ifill didn't even go for his hatty at the end.

Thought we were out of it until Siggy established dominance in the second half- we were getting owned through the middle and in the physical contest until then.

Siggie should have gone for goal himself.

Leo made our winner, was back to looking Ozil- hope he is only out for a game at most and at best is playing a part next week. Fantastic cross whipped in- and even better to Greenie to get there between the two defenders and put it past the keeper.

Manny, thought about Leo

Quite a few best performances of the season to chose from but my pick is Leo - he was the Leo of old going forward (quick, skillful and confident) but the clincher was his defense - he made more tackles yesterday than the rest of the season put together.

Long my that form continue !
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

real tough one, Smith edged it for em for simple doggedness in the mids, made brown look old and tired. Leo did really ewll although looked exhaused by 60mins, should have come off after his cross for the second goal.

Re-watch the game.
For the first time in a long time he took it upon himself to try and beat players AND he was tracking back really well against Behich; especially in the first half where he saved Manny on a couple of occasions.
Also, like I've said before - Downey isn't a footballer. He's a sprinter. He is very, very poor on the ball and has no positional sense.valeo2012-01-30 15:36:24

Whole team effort - only one who was slightly disappointing by his own standards would be Sanchez, but even then he didn't have a bad game.

Daniel for me, that free kick would have won it if it had gone in. More seriously, it was a good team performance.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
