If you want to have a good laugh...

Murray Deaker talks Phoenix with Sam Malcolmson...

It's a horrible website...you have to look for it...

About 36 minutes into the clip.

Where else in the world would you get a sport radio programme doing a football interview followed by a conversation about that legendary competition otherwise known as the 'Golden Shears'????

Personally, I really thought Sambo's performance had a lot to be desired...

"he's former sort of a...he's former sort of...(unintelligible - not surprising)...an Australian player...doesn't sort of jump out to me and sort of say 'wow'..."

I also particuarly enjoyed Sambo's pronunciation of 'A''''kmed' and 'Felipee'....

Andre Jew ron tee? WTF? Sam Malcolmson was and is always a plank. He should have picked up deaker in the first 5 seconds and laughed at his pronounciation. Malcolmson say "we" this and "we" that?? He couldn't do it properly with the Auckland teams - a bit rich him knocking the Nix.

I often wonder how Muddy Sneaker has been able to keep a job in the sports media. It's not just football, he's an appalling presenter/reporter/announcer. But I guess at least while he's there, it keeps Andrew "Bobble-Head" Saville reading the sports news and nothing further. Now that guy really irritates me.

That truly did make me laugh. Well done.

Three for me, and two for them.

Sorry but Twats are useful, Deaker isn't. Mind you he's up there with the best of them, Paul Henry and he could be related.

murray deaker epitomises everything that is bad about the new zealand sporting media which is slowly undertaking a generational change in the form of people like gunn, waldergrave and johns on radio sport and people like stanaway and evan-charlton on tvnz. he also is symbolic of old new zealand in general in my opinion

It's like listening to my rugby mad grandad try to talk football - and my grandad died 10 years ago! Deaker is an appalling broadcaster, but you can be assured that zb will never let him go till he's in a box cos they rate. That's the fault of everyone over 60 for listening to him

(pause of ten seconds)

Evancharlton, one news."

"The Golden Shears of course has been a feature of New Zealand society for...well...as long as I can remember.  It is something which has a special ring about it for Kiwis."

Doesn't sort of jump out to me and sort of say WOW, eh Sambo?
