Good feature but the karma concept ignores relativity i.e. a mong who clutters up the forum with 100 posts, 10 of which get This'd (10%), will have better karma than someone who makes 5 posts, all of which get This'd (100%).
That may be what you want, and it certainly encourages lots of posting, but personally I think good karma also comes from knowing when to shut the fuck up and not fill the forum with your garbage while fishing for karma points.
If there was down-voting (maybe a button called 'Not this' or 'Fuck this') it might work better cause then you'd be forced to quality control your posts more. Or karma is a % of This posts out of all posts.
EDIT: is the 'Un-this' idea what I am talking about (a down vote) or is it simply that you can undo a This that you did earlier?
It's undoing a this, but we are going to add a Not This button as well. Wanted to get the positive one up and running before we add the negative one in, because there's already enough negativity around here sometimes without a button to add to it.
Very good point about the relativity though, we will take on board and have a think. Basically, the intention is that karma will be something quite general and not taken very seriously, and that the button is used for agreement with a post.
The reason I wanted to do the button is to reward thought out and well reasoned posts like your one just now :)
