This is terrible. Now I'm going to keep getting Bombfunk MC - Freestyler stuck in my head every time I hear his name, as has already happened. Colvinator2012-03-28 16:52:45

I'd have thought that they're replacing the CE role with the GM role, but that the GM role will have less strategic control than the CE role would have. ie the Board will have more control than they would have had in the Pignata era when we had a CE.

Makes sense - Board has a wealth of business savy/contacts etc to bring to the table - Dome has done a good job of running the club day to day - Sherbert can come in as "Director of Futballs" year after to fill in the gaps.

Not sure about the GM vs CEO business, but congrats on the promotion, sounds well deserved.

That's pretty much how I read it too.

Well done David Dome.Congrats on your appointment and all the best.
They're going to to be big boots to fill in your former marketing role for next season, especially after this season's closing effort.

Well I've been impressed by the marketing for the back half of the season (presumably after he had some coin freed up), so if that's any indication, then I think this is a good call. Great to hear that he won it based on passion for the club as well!
