Really surprised there hasnt been any decent photos released given thats what last nites event was supposed to be about. 1st game just over two weeks away you would have thought they may have made some effort to have it released a bit earlier so fans can get it.

The event isn't till tonight (Friday). The article yesterday said the kits will be released @ 7:30pm

Looks like thinner stripes than last year, without the black shoulders - which would be a big improvement I reckon

Ok i thought it was 22nd sorry. Still think its released a little late given the length of the off season you would have thought they would want it out early to get as many pre sales as possible.

I love it. Incorporation of Maori design on the kit has been long overdue, so cool to see it on both the home and away. Love this

Looks like I'll be departing with some amount of money early next week.

That video release I saw on twitter almost brought a tear to the eye.

Probably just me but the Home kit gives me vibes of our first stripey. Just wish the collar was black all the way around.

Not big on tge spiked stripes. Overall it's ok but was hoping for something a little different this season. 

The away kit is neat though

probably a silly quetsion, but why are the womens' shorts so much short than the men's kit? I would have thought the longer ones were more comfortable.

I read a comment about that on reddit (I know not the best source) that claimed women find a cut like that much more comfortable. They claimed that the men's shorts often bunch up around the thighs for women creating a wedgie effect I assume since women generally have larger thighs(?). Really need an opinion from a woman to confirm that though...

that makes sense, I was just wondering after all the fuss being made about players uniforms being appropriate colours, fit etc why super short shorts? If the women have chosen to have them styled this way then I really have no issues with it.

Wow talk about inception, as that comment on Reddit was from me and comes from the mouth of Tracey (I <3 Nix) when I raised is in a discussion about why they were so short as well. So its funny to see it back here!

That opinion is mine (female) I believe. It's probs a personal thing but I def prefer running in shorter shorts (or tight shorts) coz the baggier "men's" ones ride up between my thighs and piss me off no end.
I feel like it needs a demonstration but....I'm not prepared for that

She felt that rugby was more of a “kiwi” sport. I don’t know the stats but I said football needed to start somewhere and I think this is just another step on the journey that the club are on. In the five years I’ve been here, it’s changed (for the better imo) year on year, helping to legitimise their strategy and grounding. My wife isn’t a football fan in the slightest, so it’s probably a rugby thing more than anything.

I think good kit design should take into account the possibility you may have to mix the home and away kit, that is have a plan for the case where you need to pair a particular shirt with light or dark shorts, and light or dark socks.  Like last year Newcastle Jets away game, we will probably have to mix the dark away top with the light home socks.  Not sure if this seasons outfit is any better in that regard than last years. 

(Also seeing Germanys kit this morning, white with a prominent black vertical stripe, any NZ team playing Germany might need a 3rd kit! )

I just got an email saying my shirt is on the way 😄 should be here before the first game I'd say!

While I get that reasoning, and using navy on its own isn't the issue (I've loved the past couple of aqua/navy kits), to any casual Aussie fans seeing us in navy with a yellow trim of all things in a wide TV shot, they will 100% think it's the Mariners. Could it not have been black chosen to keep it in our colours? 

Just because our lives revolve around the Nix, it doesn't mean everyone else knows who we are.

I think the aqua/navy combo was lovely, original and based on a really good story. But the navy on its own just doesn't do it. Why not bring back the nod to Woolongong with the red, or as WhoStoleMySock said, black?
The training wear looks nice though.

I'm a massive fan of the front of the home jersey. But I've just seen what the back looks like and it's yuuuuck.
