Might just be a me thing but I'd be upset if we didn't have a stripey home kit.

New season new kit coming! What are we hoping for this year? I'm hoping for something that harkens back to our more classic black yellow stripes whilst still retaining the Maori inspirations on more recent kits. I came up with something like this. Stripes back on sleeves like 2009/11, and Koru pattern inside the stripes like 2022/23.

Also for the love of god pleeeeeeeeeease no yellow shorts on the home kit. It looks awful everytime. Just put them in black shorts, I don't want this to become a tradition. I don't want our home shirt to look worse thanks to a pair of shorts.

That is absolutely stunning and exactly what I’ve been hoping we’d wear for years now.

Pair it with this away kit that someone on the forum (sorry I’ve forgotten who) mocked up and we’d definitely have the best kits in the league.

That would be my 'Windy Wellington' away kit! Glad it's still getting the love, it's one of my faves as well 🥰

It's also on my IG account @donisports.design, for anyone who's interested 🤙

It's honestly so good mate, I'd 100% buy this kit. Would love the club to pick it up at some point

Thanks man! Well, Paladin's IG account knows about the kit - I tagged them, and they shared it on their Instagram story, but probably realised I didn't have their logo on there and deleted it like 2 mins later haha

I need to attempt the reverse, where the white turns to black and see if that works as a home strip 🤔

Yo! Now I think about it, I made something similar to a colour swap version of this one a little while back. I must've been inspired by it at the time

The fact that you can see the pattern through the arm hole on the mock up reminded me of how much it bothers me that the underside of the actual kit shirt was white.

7ish weeks to go, surely a new kit must be coming soon?

So far Adelaide home and WSW away kits are stunning

It normally releases around the time the latest FIFA game drops. So when is the release date for that?

It comes out Sept 27th (US time? I'm guessing) and they have early access for ultimate edition preorders from the 20th

So really they need to release the kits before Sept 20 to stop it from being leaked

Yeah i was looking at previous release dates a couple weeks ago, almost always late september.

It is going to be October this year. Was mentioned in the press release about the Oppo/Entelar shirt sponsorships for this season.

So it'll be spoiled September when EAFC releases then? Or will they load it up with the old kit initially?

EAFC games have beaten A-League clubs to kit releases heaps of times in the past. It's a bit amateur when clubs get gazumped on kit releases by a bloody video game.

Now would be the best time for the club to release the kits so fans can buy them. Every year it is the same. Then fans can't get them because they either run out or are not ready at the big kick off. It doesn't take Einstein to figure that out. Give the fans something to drool over for a few months. Even Auckland have their top out I believe.

It does seem crazy that theres about 5 months of off-season and we still have to wait until it's a few weeks out to get a release of the new kit

I don't think the club cares that much about leaks, they want an event for the media attention that builds into the start of the season. Having it early might diminish momentum that the club would like around the start of the season.

But a leaked kit makes it a lot harder to build any sort of buzz around a kit reveal event, yk cos we've already seen the kit.

The media aren't going to stick leaks or eafc reveals in their news.

What I said was that people won't care about a kit reveal if they've already seen the kit.

Any form of leak be it an eafc screenshot or a leaked image from a photoshoot will 1000% do the rounds on the forum and in the facebook groups. Doesn't matter if Stuff or RNZ picks it up or not when the people who are interested enough in the nix to get excited for a kit reveal will have already seen it elsewhere eitherway.

You can't build excitement for a new season by showing people something they've already seen.

I think in Germany clubs play the last couple of matchdays of the Bundesliga wearing the next seasons kit. For clubs that aren't at the pointy end of a title race this must generate a bit of excitement for the forthcoming season if you don't have much to play for at the time.

Maybe for here it might be good to have the kit launch at the same time as when the season passes first become available to buy. That would generate a bit of additional interest, the club could put out promo stuff at the time featuring the new kit, and supporters could buy the new kit while full of excitement and enthusiasm (although it might be too big of a financial hit at once).

A lot of clubs in Europe do that, fairly certain it's not the popular opinion but I've never really been a huge fan of it.

Yeah, but they're focussed on getting the kit in the news so they do an event close to the season and reveal the kit - its in the news, sponsors are happy and some media momentum. You do a specific kit reveal, like Adl and MC have done more than a month out from kickoff, its not likely that, apart from sokkah twitter, you're getting much media traction.

Now that Auckland FC is on board the media interest in the new season should pick up anyway. So releasing kits early makes sense to me

Why not make a thing of it and release the away kit first/early, then the home kit closer toward the season starts.

2x media exposure, gets fans something to drool over, and getting hype just before the season kicks off

The biggest problem is the ridiculously short A-League season. If it starts at a normal time you don't have these problems.

I would suggest making a point of having new seasons kit available before fathers day.   Christmas is halfway through the season.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons we are wearing yellow strip more away in hot Aus summer and the alternate black strip at home in temperate Wellington.

Western United get the worst of both worlds. Maybe that's why they insist on playing in Tasmania.

A few more clubs have released their kits for the season (Sydney FC, Mariners, WSW) on the ALM website.

Gotta say, so far the standard is very high for both home and away kits, probably the best it's been in this league.

Although, Mariners collar looks like a bowtie 🤣

Adelaide United have had their away kit leaked from EA FC.

I believe early access for those who preordered the game starts today or tomorrow - so if anyone knows anyone with access to it, maybe see if they can screenshot the Nix's kits

In the past, teams have made agreements with EA not to include their newest kits if they haven't formally released them yet (the Nix have done this for the past few seasons). This just seems like complete negligence by Adelaide lol. Wouldn't hold my breath for a Nix reveal but would be a neat surprise, for sure

What ever it is hope Paladin get their act together and have a decent supply of larger sizes and not run out with months of the season to go as they normally do.
Would also love to see the beanie that i saw players wearing at training today.
