Be hilarious listening to Spark Sport commentators (at some time in the future surely) say 'Welcome to Sky Stadium'

No one will call it "Sky Stadium". It will forever be "The Stadium".

Just as Hamilton's cricket ground will forever be "Sodden Park". (I think I spelled that correctly.)

It is only a mockup, but it is kinda weird that they wouldn't use the NZ logo.

I actually think a lot of people will still refer to it as Westpac stadium to be honest.

20 Years of  Westpac will be hard to change names for some. I like "Sky Arena" or "Ring of Fire". They just need to change the colours of the seat and make them various colours, like at Kennedy Park, Napier. Even with only a few people moving, it looked like it was full - optical illusion. When Westpac only has 6,000 in it, it looks like a dustbowl.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Probably still going to call it "Westpac" or "The Stadium" for a while.

It makes sense for Sky, they don't want to change their business model to match what the leaving subscribers want, so just embed themselves more in the ownership of sport to try to hold on to who they have.

It took a while to get used to the change from Vector Arena to Spark Arena, but it becomes second nature eventually.

A colloquial name like the Ring of Fire or the Cake Tin will always stick though

Considering I still call Westfield Lower Hutt, Queensgate I don't think I'll be stopping calling it Westpac for a while haha.

I would just like to point out that Fix has also changed its name to Night'n'Day. You're welcome.

I called AMI Stadium in Christchurch Jade Stadium for years until it was rendered unusable. Parents still called it Lancaster Park.

It takes around a year for people to change - in Melbourne it changed from Telstra Dome,

, to Etihad Stadium, to Marvel Stadium.

I kinda like Sky Stadium. I always thought the Ring of Fire thing was a little forced and never really stuck with me.

Westpac is a sharke name for a stadium, quite happy with sky. I enjoyed seeing them use football rather than the other two inferior sports as the example on the stadium ?

Could combine the new brand with the 'cake tin' heritage, and call it the Pie in the Sky Stadium.

Agreed on the Ring of Fire thing. Plus I don't like Johnny Cash. Had a flatmate once who was really into him and listened to him all the time and I found his music a combination of boring and depressing
