Yeah the problem is how the hell we going to get them to come from England from over here, If theyre experianced and young they wont want to leave and if theyre experianced and old theyll want the doe.

What. You mean like the loan system the Knights had with Charlton? How many up and coming Addicks players did we ever get from that? Zilch.

i agree, the Charlton link was a waste of time and effort, i would rather see us form a link with a championship club if we are going to have an 'alliance' arrangement with an english club, atleast then it is more realistic that there would be co-operation, maybe we could have an alliance with Preston North End and do a swap: Brockie for Nugent

Hahah good idea. I think a Loan is a great way to bring in players, but what clubs will want to latch onto us. If terry throws some money around then maybe we can hook up a deal.

Incorrect, Matt Carbon was being chased by several League Two sides but he wanted too much $$

Ah, no, I was not incorrect, some League Two clubs had been approached by his agent and had said that they would have been willing to take him on but that his demands were ridiculous due to his terrible injury problems. He wanted a contract, they wanted him to prove he was fit first, they were right, and the gonads at the Knights were total suckers to take him on.
There is no doubting his pedigree as a player - I remember him being the next "next big thing" during his time with Lincoln and the England u-21s and although he didn't fulfill that early promise he had a solid career. But the fact is that the Knights signed him to a lucrative contract when everyone else seemed to realise that he was a horse that should have been put out to pasture. Dumbasses.

No, I have inside info and we offered him a contract - which he turned down due to a better offer from NZ ( we werent offering much).

...and as for Bazeley, I heard from an impeccable source that it was in his Knights contract that if he was fit, he had to be selected. Now this might be wrong - although I believe it implicitly - but it would explain the fact that he kept getting a game when he clearly was one of the worst defenders at the club and therefore in the league.
I say The Nix should learn from what's happened and steer clear of British players over the age of 28. A lot of them come here only when they can't get contracts over there.

One club may have done, (which goes against what I heard) but lots turned him down. And also, why weren't they (not sure of your club) paying much? He wasn't worth the risk. And that's the whole point of what I'm saying.

Yeah I agree, wasnt worth the risk. Notts County, we were very interested in him, not his injuries.

Maybe Terry's friend @ Palace can help us there if he doesn't come down here for us.

Getting back on topic i think Lochead will go alright, he's quality and his record shows it.

To be fair to Bze he was one of our best performers in season one - think he lost a yard or two of pace in the off season.

Lochead will be great - MLS is a step up from the A League I think.

It is ironic that, as you say, Bazeley lost a yard of pace in the close season, and Neil Emblen, although one of the Knights best performers, was clearly carrying quite a few kilos too many. Who was the guy promoted to assistant head coach? The fitness trainer...

Totally agree, he will be an asset, a player that's always looked classy when I've seen him and Steve Nichol has been his MLScoach, he knows a thing or two about the fullback position.

Banks isn't up to it physically. Been proven twice. His level is the NZFC and he will thrive there.
The A League defences are too quick and too physical for him.

Has been fighting tooth and nail in the VPL. 2 weeks ago he skinned 3 players to set a teammate up for a tap in and the winner against Melbourne Knights.
