New coach from Oz please. Get that right and everything else will fall into place. Paul Okon or Ante Milicic are top of my list.

Dont think that getting a coach from OZ will solve all the problems currently, they have shit coaches as well as good ones. Might be better to attempt to spread the net a bit wider as there must be plenty of coaches who would see the nix as a good gig

The bonus of an aussie coach is aussie contacts - I think a kiwi coach would be a huge mistake imo. I just dont think we have the quality and experience on our own shores, we dont have anyone who would have the luring power of an overseas coach either

I think we'd have plenty of overseas options but as we've seen (almost) every Aus club discard an import for a local there is a cautionary message in there for us.

Yep that was my point. Oz coaches are working out in their own league. Clear trend  Already in the loop/network and will know the jigsaw pieces they want.

This

Oz coach for me too!

We only have 1 import slot so outside of this any player recruitment is limited to Oz/kiwis. Hopefully any OZ coach will have some talent he can tap up and bring to the Nix. Plus I kind of like the no bullshit positive attitude of lots of Oz sportspeople. I want someone to come in and kick a few arses....like telling Muscat. "I'm the coach...you are a quality RB, you were a shit DM, you are going back to RB, end of story".

Seem to recall Manny being the man in the same position last year.Like most of team he is badly off his game. Not sure why just telling him he is going to go back to RB its going to fix things for him

He did get members' and players' player of the year a couple of seasons ago playing in midfield.

I'd like to see us try and play a ball along the ground game. Short passing as well. These 50 yarders occasionally work but not often enough.  I'd like to see us going up the middle too. We're so predictable going down the wings it's why we've been found out. Sure there is a place for it but not every time we get the ball. I guess you could call it "Plan B".

I would be interested in seeing us playing a tighter game. We've given the ball away far too often - usually with long passing and goalkeeping efforts. Nothing wrong with rolling the ball out to an available defender or midfielder.

I'd also like to see anyone whom gains possession of the ball in the opposition half and sends it back into our defending half get fined 5k for every time. I've seen not just us but a lot of A Teams sides get down into a greta attacking position only to start passing the ball backwards so much that it ends up with the goalkeeper whom then usually hoofs it up field and gives away possession as well as tactical advantage.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

So are you saying you want a return to the days of our side stacked with Aussies at the expense of Kiwis?

You can probably also kiss goodbye to any future recruitment from the ASB Prem with an Aussie coach.

Is this what we want?

In his one game at RB this season Manny seriously stank up the joint.

Word on the street is that Lee Norfolk's got the gig sewn up anyway

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I dunno. But the possibility of a foreign coach coming in with little or no knowledge/respect for the ASB Prem, and maybe Kiwi players in general, is an entirely predictable consequence of Herbert leaving. I'm surprised it hasn't been raised as a concern before now.

Next season: ONE home and away game and ONE regional development.

Akld has had a fair crack so it's time for the Tron to get a look in and also ChCh (hopefully in  that nice looking rectangle stadium).

Also have them on Saturdays so travel is not so much of a problem.

Lobby FIFA/FFA for slightly larger goal dimensions?

Law 1 – the field of play
Goals

A goal must be placed on the centre of each goal line.

A goal consists of two upright posts equidistant from the corner flagposts and joined at the top by a horizontal crossbar. The goalposts and crossbar must be made of wood, metal or other approved material. They must be square, rectangular, round or elliptical in shape and must not be dangerous to players.

The distance between the posts is 8.72 m (9 yards 19 inches) and the distance from the lower edge of the crossbar to the ground is 3.14 m (10 feet 4 inches).

Ahmad eventually found a FFA person and was given them feedback. Our home & away games need to be on Sat nights, whether they are home games or FFA regional games.

Would like a trip down to ChCh but the Tron isn't a bad shout also.

Ahmad deserves some recognition from the club for his work - it wouldn't be untrue to attribute some of the 3k crowd to his efforts.

But really - 3k - that must be close to our midweek game against Furries in the rain (or some such).  Time to regionally develop elsewhere for a spell.

Correct, has to be Friday or Saturday. Am I right that there were no flights even out of Dunedin after game? Using up a day of leave when we've been so bad just wasn't an option. Not to mention the expense of getting to and from Dunedin which is ridiculous at the best of times.

IN - Hernandez, a new coach who will put a well deserved rocket up the backsides of the squad, a natural goalscorer, 2 new fullbacks, 1 new centre half (at least), a goalkeeper, a decent holding midfielder.

OUT - Paston, Lochhead, Lia, Smith, Bertos (can maybe stay as squad player), Sanchez, Totori, Ifill (he may retire?), Downey

I'd also like to see us look like we've practiced a few set pieces in training, as well as some passing and moving, rather than the current passing and standing still.  Some better advertising, more hype, less Sunday games, less family orientated crap, less giant Chickens on the TV, better music at the stadium.

Not too much to ask is it?!

Looking good so far Steve-O.
Just wrong on Lia, Bertos, Totori and Ifill (and BTW you are a twunt for suggesting that Ifill should be out.  That's my main squeeze you are dissing).
