What's the point in playing Elrich - who isn't comfortable on the left - instead of Lochhead when Lochhead was great there last week?

Doesn't make any sense at all.

Also, to the guy that said we should play 3 defensive midfielders at HOME (when we need to win pretty much every game to have a chance of making the top 4..), we aren't f**king Melbourne!

Crack is whack, son.

Should be the same team as last week but Elrich on the bench and Aloisi/Johnson/Brown in the starting line up. Either of those 3 can take Ferrante's spot and he can take Elrich's.

Now come on puppy, team for disscussion not set in stone

Sorry, but some of these ideas are crazy.

If he can't put a cross in from the right he most certainly can't put one in from the left.

Although you have a point about him cutting inside and shooting I don't think it's a great idea.

He's on the wing to provide rather than to score goals. You would theoreticaly play Lochead or Daniel on there wrong side in order to have your best team on.

Love Daniel's play but there is no place for him and Felipe  in the starting line up if we still want to push for playoffs and play with 3 at the back. Bring him on later in the game. I can't decide who should play beside Ferrante.

-----------------Moss--------------------

--------Rees---Dodd---Old-----------

---- Ferrante--Johnson/Lia/Brown--

Elrich--------------------------Lochead

-----------------Felipe---------------------

he hasnt been good enough for the team to date, let alone putting him in an unfamiliar position. I'm pretty sur the defender would be able to pick that he was cutting inside every time! We have Lochy who was brilliant and Daniel. End of.

The point is to put him in a position to shoot rather than cross. He should be comfortable on either side, Daniel crosses over a lot, it would be useful if Elrich did so as well.

[Edit] here is a good reason http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-DHsXpitPY[/Edit]

As for picking him over Lochhead, it was just an idea.  If you read the post I stated that that lineup was one way of fitting Elrich on the left, I did not say it was the best lineup we could put out, nor did I state it was the best lineup for this game.

Which is why it would work better with a back four and Lochhead overlapping.  Unfortunately, as I stated, we have an imbalance of strength in midfielders compared to defenders, which makes this suggestion impractical.

If we did have the personnel to play with a back four however,  a left foot/right foot combination on the flank would provide a lot of useful options.

Yeah, I agree somewhat with your last point. Wish we had a decent right back. Christie is ok but he's not comfortable and is too sluggish.

A right footed Lochhead would suit me fine.

Johnson in the centre of midfield is good at getting the ball and keeping it.  Distributes competently and makes himself available for the return.  No attempts at the million dollar pass.  Every team needs a guy like this.  We looked miles better when he came on against Perth.  Fill the spaces around him however you like.

Royce Brownlie getting 5. And Ferrante scoring

Was the game attended by Winston Peters and Helen Clark by any chance?

Hahha Brownlie 5 goals.

Good to see that Tiatto and McKay might be out. That'd be a huge blow for QLD.

Having opposition players out doesn't really seem to help us much though

[edit] Tiatto confirmed out but McKay will be playing. I think Tiatto was out last time we played them as well?

Same team as last week for me especially given I was advocating for Daniel as sub.  The reality to me is that it didnt actually get tested enough given the sending off so I think the reasons for doing it are still valid.  It unravelled a bit part way through the first half when they were strong but I think it gives us a strong start.....still prepared to drop Elrich tho but as long as he does send in crosses i think he should start.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Not sure if this has been posted and/or if it's the right thread, but Tiatto and McKay are 50-50 to play

EDIT: Tiatto is OUT. McKay is IN.

 Why?

Isn't it better if Newcastle lose? Bunches up the table and we have more of a chance of sneaking in the top 4.

I'm not sure what's sadder - your inability to recognise sarcasm (even when a smiley face was used), your use of the word "raped" or the fact you've joined our forum especially to post something as childish as this.

Go back to your own boards you sad, strange little man, where you are a true mental giant compared to some of the neanderthals posting on there.

Robbie Kruse was in this shot, but he got within 2 feet of Craig Moore and fell to the ground clutching his shin just as the shot was taken.

Gee some of you Wellingtons boys are pretty insecure, seems the only thing you can bag Qld about is their sponsor or the "so called" diving and rough play that you simply could not handle in the game at Suncorp earlier on in the year.... Harden the f**k up!!!!!

Point is we are heading towards a top two finish while your lot are only in with a ever so slight chance, which will be extinguished after 90 mins this Friday...

In saying that you guys are to be congratulated on put forward the best ever NZ side to be entered in either the NSL/A-League...

Actually, the first two seasons of the Kingz missed the playoffs in the last match of the season.  If we equal or better that I'll be stoked.

To be honest mate, most of couldn't really give a rats about you guys, but for some reason your lot have developed this mentalilty that we are the sworn enemy which is great, makes for more fun at matches and on spots like here.. But yes the odd sheep joke still exists but hey what can you do??

Kings might have missed on the finals by a game but they had no where near the support or the backroom professionalism that has been seen this year, on a very short notice mind you....

Well bring on Friday night, our boys are pumped as you team is no doubt after a win last week...Unfortunately there has to be a loser which aint going to be us!!!! We'll be top of the league (for at least a few hours), in the pole position to overtake the Mariners and secure the league title, heading to the finals and hopefully the league/championship double...
