Yeah throwing a name out there, Giuseppe Rossi or Bony? Has to be a player on that level for this amount of hype right?

I love how everyone's expectation slowly escalates when we know there's an announcement coming.

It will be the Japanese striker or Lewis.

I honestly don't think so, not for the amount of hype they're giving it. There wasn't this much when we signed Taylor last year, or Davila this year and they are two of our more high profile signings. But even if it is disappointing in the end, lets just enjoy this beautiful bubble of pure excitement and getting ahead of ourselves. I literally know nothing except we are signing someone and my feelings towards the nix are 100% more positive than yesterday, i love it

True that! Don't get me wrong, I love the escalation in expectations and hope it's something big.

New social media manager earning their coin.

What free agents are available who would justify the hype? Rossi?

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

That made me laugh hahaha, nah in fairness he might have been talking about Michael Essien. It won't be him though as he is a box to box midfielder and old as shark

The wording doesn't sound like a player signing to me, but fingers crossed.

Am I the only one who thinks there's a non-zero chance that this will be Welnix pulling out of the club? Either with a sale or surrendering the licence? An announcement regarding the club may well be... the end of the club.

Yes.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

The hell... Not every announcement means the Nix are dying, Doloras. Check the socials and come back to this thread.

We're all buzzing because we aren't disappointed yet, so lets speculate wildly. These are some strikers who are free agents currently, ranked in my opinion from least likely to most likely that we could sign (let's be honest, it won't be any of em but we can dream).

  • Wilfried Bony
  • Jonathas
  • Gary Hooper
  • Rodri
  • Obafemi Martins
  • Giuseppe Rossi

Can't really see any of the other free agents being hyped this much

Gary Hooper would be the perfect signing for us; can't see it happening, but we've got a bit of English connections in the team now.

It also looks like he's had a lot of Championship-level offers and hasn't taken any of them - so that perhaps indicates he was weighing up a big life move.

A big money move to Iran also recently fell through. (2 days ago)

I see Uli Davila sometimes likes Bony's posts on insta, and it appears they played together for a season at Vitesse... But then again he is so far out of our price range

Is there any possibility that we signed the player before the window shut and were only announcing it today when they're in the country?

I think that probably makes sense, yeah; which probably means it's unlikey Hooper as his move only fell through 2 days ago, so we would've had to move insanely quick.

It's football law that if your club makes a hype video before announcing a signing, the player has some serious big dick energy

There are lots of decent strikers available out there.

Even if it's not a household name, for example  there are plenty of decent South Americans.

Someone like Jonathas, Brazilian, 1.92 m, 30 years

It'll be Obafemi Martins, after turning us down previously he is now coming to the Nix after still not signing with anyone else since then.
