Is this correct, have we really played 17 games against them.

3 in each season + 1 preliminary final?  I think we've only played 15 games.

I was correct, dumb arses!

Man, we have to take it to Seednee big time.
Just tear into them.If they want to field young players...well fine but I'm hoping Paul Ifill gives them a serious f**king lesson.

Yeah, they were here yesterday at lunch too.
I'm guessing they're staying here at the Swiss Grande, overlooks the beach.

+ 1 was hoping Smith could stay in midfield at Lia's expense.

The games tomorrow and this match thread is only 2 pages long.  In fact the forum in general has been seriously quiet.

Silly Ricki, we won four games on the trot with no Lia! Smith offers more in midfield IMO, but at least Manny will be back at RB so the shambles that happened last week won't happen again.

So its that creative duo of Lia and Brown back in midfield together......sigh!

Tough on Smith...though he wasn't at his best in the last game. He just provides a more fluid passing option in midfield. He can recieve and pass with either feet without having to take two or three touches, plus he has been real handy in the air as well.

I guess Rickie rates Lia/Brown highly. He probably is planning to rough up the young Sydney midfielders. Negative IMO. I agree with Ifill when he said that the beat way to approach these away games is to go out and attack. We could win this but I would settle for a draw. A loss really pulls us back into the chasing pack.

Not much attacking flair off the bench over...neither Ward nor Pav are likely to come on and provide a killer ball like Daniel can. Huge game for Ifill....he is our only game breaker.

Is it just me or does everyone cringe when Lia has the ball, he just can't seem to make a 6 yard pass.

Not sure why keeping Smith involves 'manning up', but I would hope that with the import limit reducing we are able to get a better import. A right back or a goal scoring striker perhaps.

I get the feeling that we will pretty much keep the same squad for next season. We do need some squad regeneration but with only 1 year left of Ricki, not sure he will start the process.

At the end of the day I think it comes more down to the budget and direction from the owners.

Think we'll go close to winning it tonight, and they're up for it. Everyone's back in their right holes. Offensively, huge games needed from not just Ifill, but Sanchez has to seriously standup and display the hints of class from a couple of months ago, and Bertos has to deliver.

two wins in a row would be awesome right about now.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

would prefer Lia on the bench and Smith starting.  His delivery is pretty good.  shame Daniel is injured.

Phoenix back to full strength in Sydney
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/soccer-football/news/article.cfm?c_id=86&objectid=10787922

"The Phoenix will be hoping to rain on Ivan Necevski's birthday parade tonight.

The Sydney FC goalkeeper turns 32 today with his sights set on an extra reason to celebrate by snapping a two-match losing run against Ricki Herbert's Phoenix this season when they line up tonight.

Necevski forced regular custodian Liam Reddy to the bench after the 5-2 loss to Newcastle Jets three weeks ago quickly repaying coach Vitezslav Lavicka with solid efforts in successive 2-1 victories over Perth Glory and Adelaide United."

Insert (excuse the pun) joke about Lia in certain hole here.
