Hawke�s Bay United are to take on the Wellington Phoenix in a scheduled pre-season friendly to be played in Wellington, Tuesday 14th October. As far as first pre-season matches go it quite possibly couldn�t get any tougher and included in the Hawke�s Bay United squad for this fixture are a couple of talented guest players who have caught the eye of Jonathan Gould as he looks to strengthen his squad for the new season.
Head coach Jonathan Gould said of the match �This is a great opportunity for the players of Hawke�s Bay united to test themselves against a professional outfit. It is a pretty tough first pre-season fixture, but the players have been working very hard and will enjoy the experience. I would like to thank the Wellington Phoenix for extending this invitation to us�

i believe parkin is still recovering from a fractured knee cap. would love to hear udates and a wrap on how the bay boys went in their first hit out of the yr. i believe they play waitak on saturday as well. glad to see them getting quality opposition pre season
