I'm getting that weird feeling we might pull something off this weekend.  Ricki has always been able to pull one out of the hat when he really needs it, especially at home.  I'm picking a 2-1 or 1-0 with either Boyd or Totori to get off the mark and score the winner

One good thing about this week is that there no Australian referees at all Peter Oleary is the referee. Hopefully Peter will make no major gaffs and show the Australians that we have decent referees.I was disappointed with Streb last week. He made some major blunders

along with his ARs that cost us the game.Referees must get the major decisions right.

In many ways the AR's can now have a more significant impact on the game than a referee.

Was his pre-season injury an ankle or knee? Guess Clarke will be  jumping back on the plane.

Was ankle. Probably explains a lot about his form this season

For last years pre-Xmas game, we had no Ifill and managed to score 5 goals. Hope we can do the same this year.

Yeah could see clarke.. although not sure if it will happen. Could be a chance to look at another player.
Guess it makes the squad decision easier. As Ricki was potentially having to drop someone if Brockie was to comne in
Wouldnt be surprised if Boyd starts with brockie on bench

Thought so, been questioning if he was fully fit all season. Maybe they have decided to bite the bullet and get the op to fix it.

Based on his current form, I actually think its good for the team. He has offered very little, and will allow someone else to come in

This could end up being a good thing for the team, it'll force players like Brockie, Stein and Sanchez to step up and create chances, rather than wait for Ifill to create them.

I still think even though not playing well, he does create space by the mere fact he always draws a couple of defenders

Even in his current form he's one of our best players. Bit sad, really.

Should open up a starting spot for Boyd I hope. Although I can see Ricki chucking Fenton in for a front three of
Fenton-Huysegems-Brocks

people seem to have instantly forgotten that Louis Fenton actually played the whole 90 min of the last game

He been carrying it for a while do you think?
Still a good chance for the youngsters and others to try to stand up without him. May be a blessing in disguise as he certainly hasn't had the same kind of dynamic presence that he has had in previous years- we passed the ball too him a lot and he didn't win us a game yet!!
I'd like to see Fenton starting and Totori getting more time. Pity- would have been good to have Ifill off the bench. Will be interesting if Boyd can back up his show against Adelaide. Maybe a few Boyd banners?? Damn have been  waiting for that authoratative win ever since the first game- just really needs two goal scorers to have a good game at the same time- Sanchez may make a difference in linking everyone together...

I would put money on it being the same injury from pre-season. We probably rushed him back too early again.

Partnering Manny in midfield I hear...

On a serious note, would love to see Fenton/Stein/Boyd with Sanchez feeding them.
