 Thanks for your comments, Outpost, but I'm really not being a polyanna right now. We're still missing something in the penalty area, and sadly Bald Belgian doesn't seem to be it. I think Ricki and Gareth need to take a punt with injury replacements for Ifill (& Pav)? BUT: we were at least trying to play the right kind of game today. End-to-end stuff, passing out of defence rather than letting Pasty hoof it, etc. The question is not so much where we are now, but where we're going.

I see the usual bunch of tw@ts are angsting away.

Not beautiful footy, but good grafting work by the whole team.  Both young lads did well. Sanchez showed us what we have been missing for most of the season with some good touches.  Leo our RWB machine - if he wasn't Greek he'd be Brazilian.

before this gets to crazy in here, can i say nice goal from dani, and a draw with the top team aint bad. 

My slant on it was that the game was dull...both sides. We were lucky not to be a couple down. young players tried hard, but our more seasoned players were far too slow passing the ball out from defence. Paston was....dodgy and I thought that Manny had probably his worst game since he came to us

Have just read the first half of the game as described by this forum.  They seem to be watching a TOTALLY different game to the one I watched.  I thought we looked quite good.  Never seen such an absolute avalanche of negativity!

Ok overall was a good result against number 1 team. I think totori should be given at least the chance to start. Dani and him link well. For those who say we played poorly/boring I think you are getting confused with our tactics to play out wide and flood the box with crosses. Can sometimes look a bit stale. Think we need to play through the middle along the floor a we bit more. But I'm very happy with our squad and potential with a few tactical tweaks. 

 I object to T_X saying c*** as if it's a bad thing - most of us here have, frankly, neither the warmth nor the depth. :)

But I accept nufc's withdrawal of the cock comment, and wish him and everyone else the very best of holiday seasons. (I don't say Christmas so as not to offend the Tottenham Hotspur fans.)

But, Gareth Morgan your living in dream land if you think this current team can play "total football" when we can't even play through the middle of the park.We had no plan B or anything today, just head for the flanks and hook it into the box time and time again. like every game. meanwhile the middle of the park had zero phoenix players in it and several mariners players  looking to take us on.we need a playmaker in the middle of the park and we don't have that at present.Don't even try to tell me that's what Dani Sanchez is there for because that's complete tripe. he wasn't that before his injury i can't see him being that after it either
