My point exactly that i made to Luis Garcia and he never got back to me and this proves why! People bag players without actually looking at the facts.
There is a lot more to football than just facts. Like El Grap said, Hogg made several passes that were technically successful, but put players under pressure or were very lucky to actually get to the player. Hogg wasn't the only player that was like this though, there were several other players that were honking too.

but he kept possesion more than others, so lets say he suited the more ''total football' method of phoenix. I guess he doesnt suit the now gung ho, anything goes style. Probably why Lochead is back in.

Nix are $6.75 to win this at the TAB. I know we are crap, but so are Brisbane. They played 120 mins midweek and couldn't score in a Thai brothel. That really seems overpriced.

That is a good bet I'm getting on that.  Berisha always scores against us but maybe we can knee cap him or something.  Man I wish Hernandez was playing, already getting excited about next gen phoenix

I would have picked Hogg personally, not because he's any better than Lochy, but because he's younger and we've seen less of him at this level. Lochy has had a million games for the Nix now, so we know that he's not going to transform into Messi overnight. Hogg, well he's not going to transform into Messi either, but given a bit of game time he may step up a bit? And when we have to make a decision whether or not to retain Lochhead at the end of the season, if they're much of a muchness playing-wise I'd rather find out a bit more about Hogg before making that decision.

I wouldn't say its overpriced, we're terrible away against pretty much everyone. We wouldn't even be favoured to win in Perth this season

Yeah I really hope Hogg still hangs around with us during the off-season and is heavily involved during preseason - Id hate to see him let go based on performances this season alone, I still think he has alot more to offer. Just needs more time with the squad and more football

Hogg has far more room for improvement than Lochhead, and will be a lot cheaper as well. I would choose to play Lochhead for the rest of this season, but not keep him for the season, and sign Hogg up instead.

Mariners are paying $2.10 to win in Perth, and Heart paying $3.25 to win in Newcastle. There's some very juicy odds on away teams this round (especially CCM!)

Ricki's definitely torn between trying to get in the play-offs this season and starting to build for next season.

There's still seven league games to go though, which is plenty of time for fringe players to get a run.

Top six i think is going to be more important, theres a long enough off season to build a squad, perhaps Welnix will get the guys on another tour somewhere or something.

I think finishing the season on a 'high' would help with building the squad anyway, would bring some good morale to the guys knowing what they could achieve next season, would also help with attracting players to wellington. Would be good for the fans and just the all around image of the club

a decent performance after last week would be great... tho most of the season has been waiting for a decent performance. good to see mossy, i hope he makes the most of his start. lochy back in no surprise there. i would of like to see more hogg, but me thinks ricki is reading lochy the riot act and this could be his last shot. either way both need to perform better. siggy also needs to lift his shit. top 6 is not out of reach. and at the beginning of the season i would have said that was a minimum for an acceptable season. so lets hope they go out there, kick 7 shades of shit out of berisha, fight him in the tunnel afterwards and score a few goals

Will be interesting to see if they can manage this

From an interview with Corey

"Wellington will be without leading-scorer Jeremy Brockie for Sunday's outing due to one-match suspension but Gameiro seems ready to fill the gap and said he was happy with the style of play that Herbert had imparted on the side during his first week with the club. We want to try and play football. We don't want to try and kick it long, there's seven weeks left and at the moment they've been in a bit of a long-ball situation. If it's at the back we want to try and play out. We've got good footballers here so I want to play football, I don't want to be having a sore neck with the ball going up and over my head.''

Bring on Moss, at long  last, it may be a bit late but finally the fisherman has gone, just so sick of him looking back  at his full  net and he hasn't moved an inch, then starts nutting off. We always go better when he isn't there .

That's right, we train like that then game time is long ball city.

I'm still cracking up about the fisherman

teams that play out from the back often have 5 midfielders, not a converted right back and two converted wingers and nothing in between.

I think Gamiero is in for a bit of a shock......better buy some ointment for Monday morning because he will have a sore neck from ball watching. Maybe he should have a chat to Huysegems about what to expect.

does anyone else get the feeling that gameiro might turn out to be a rich mans pav?

What is that feeling based on? I've never seen him play, so am curious to know if you have any knowledge of him?

Allegedly

just the video ive seen, and what hes said in the media. I dont really know where the idea came from. its just a hunch. and also i loved pav 's batshit approach to football. so if he does turn out to be a better version of pav, i'd will be very happy.

Fair enough. It'll be interesting to see how he goes. A first nix hattrick would be nice.

I thought I was putting money on the Nix getting into the 'finals'.  Turned out I was backing them to make the FINAL (no 's').  Oops.
