Looks like a full strength side for this Sunday, unless injuries during the week.

So...
                                    Moss
Sigmund           Durante         Dodd          Lochhead
                       Brown            Johnson
Bertos                                                  Daniel
                   Smeltz                 _______

Subs:
Paston
McKain
Gao
*striker/mid*

I missed the game against the Jets as I was away in a remote area. Did Sigmund play RB or CB. This side may well be wrong going on the Jets game but it was the best I could muster up.

Sigmund and Durante were the other way around.  Also, swap Daniel and Super Leo... and I can't see Gao missing out.

For Gao, its just a case of hard luck this time, from the chatter, Daniel has been good from the bench and Leo hasn't had a chance since injury,  unless we drop a striker for him.

I doubt Leo would go straight in to the first team squad anyway... he's more likely to come off the bench to see him fit into the side again and gradually return to match fitness.

Good point, it may be Gao/Kwasnik for Bertos, possibly... I'll leave it the same as I'd like to see Bertos i the 11.

I'd love to stick Draper on the bench, but can't find room for him. The only player I would consider dropping would be Johnson, for Draper/Ferrante. Would Durante play at right back? Or do you think that the captain must play in his normal position, especially if he is looking to get in the 'roos?

so OUT: Hearfield, Draper, Costa, Plodder, Mulligan, Muscat, Ferrante

Spoke to a man who ought to know today.  He says it's a fully fit squad as of today's session.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

How can people possibly put Johnson ahead of Ferrante. You gotta be kidding me.

I'd really like to see a Brown Ferrante midfield this week.

Why Paston ahead of Moss?

Johnson has shown more than Ferrante has this season. Ferrante has been the most disappointing player out of everyone (when he's got a chance) for me.

Paston deserves one more game to show us who we should play in goal for the remainder of the season. The back four is pretty  straightforward, I still want to have Siggy but I also want our usual CB partnership given that Mckain is fit. Lochhead's a nobrainer.
In contrast to Valeo I think Ferrante has shown more than Johnson so I'd like to see him alongside Brown (who's been brilliant). I also want to see all three of our "holy trinity" on the field so I've put Bertos and Daniel on the flanks with Gao playing in behind Smeltz.
Dodd is unlucky to miss out, but he can cover the Defence and if need be the midfield. Hearfield shown he can play pretty  much everywhere other than CB so he gets a place on the bench alongside Coveny, our backup striker option.

I'd pretty much agree with Oska's team apart from Kwasnik for Bertos maybe. I'd have Leo on the bench.

The Ferrante v Johnson thing's interesting. I don't think that Johnson's done too badly this season and I've been a bit diappointed in Ferrante. I am a fan of Ferrante tho', and I think he is capable of giving us a little bit of creativity in the midfield that we've been sorely lacking. Be interesting to see how Ricki rolls the dice this weekend.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Although I'm against it I think Johnno will almost certainly get the nod again this week. He's played (for me) pretty averagely most rounds this season but RH has given him a place rather conistantly so far.

let's hope dodd is played at centre back and not thrown into midfield again this season. hopefully a lesson learnt there. i think we'll have the measure of them this week you know.

I like the look of this team, it won't happen but I still like it.

Bring McKain on in a defensive central mid posy for Kwasnik and put daniel out on the left. Hearfield could come on for Gao/Daniel when either look like they're crapping out and Plodder on for Bertos who may be lacking a bit of match fitness.

Ricky, I hope you're listening.

I would generally agree re Kwasnick, but he just might be worth a crack against his old club at his old ground.  It's the sort of situation that can lift a player.

I know, I know, its serious!

Should be- but wont be.
PLEASE NOTE MCKAIN PLAYED DM FOR AUSTRALIA B4 U SAY PUTTING CENTRE BACKS IN THE MIDFIELD DOESNT WORK.
and i dont get why they aren't picking McKain- DURANTE HAS BEEN sh*t. Look at that goal the other week where his sh*t marking led to a goal- terrible.

Anyone think it would be interesting to see what Leilei could do sitting in behind Smeltz as a kind off half striker half attacking midfielder

isn't that what an attacking midfielder's role is anyway???

No. Attacking midfielder is an advanced midfielder position from the midfield block, but that is not a half striker.

I think he meant Gao being the "man in the hole "which is a very advanced attacking midfield position, sometimes known as a "deep lying forward." He would then act as the offensive pivot of the team, to create goal-scoring opportunities for his team mates, and perhaps to score himself. He may be referred to as the playmaker and are not constrained to a single position (like the attacking midfielder is)- creativity is the only true requirement, and good passing ability and tactical awareness help

Gao also has the option of being able to push on the last man on defence like a striker giving a gap for another midfielder to push up and then change back into an attacking midfielder to assist the midfield passing game if need be.

Depends on the situation and his understanding of the game. This is for the most astute of players because they have to be intelligent, skillful and quick as well.

Teddy Sheringham is an typical example of 'dropping off' his strike partner, Alan Shearer finding spaces, creating play and providing key passes, forming the link between Shearer and the England midfield.

Yea that's pretty much what i was getting at but i'm not really sure about Leilei's shooting because I haven't really seen much of it but I think he could provide a little spark at least compared to the impact that the 2nd striker has had. I don't really think covenys done much to create chances.

I like the look of this, although I'd swap Siggy for Dura and McKain for Dodd. I'd also like to see Costa in this lineup and would probably put him where Daniel is and put Daniel on the left, drop Kwasnik.

niether the goalies or the labradors are safe

I'd back Leilei to shoot and score, he can strike a ball as sweetly as anyone in our squad, and considerably better than most
