For Gao, its just a case of hard luck this time, from the chatter, Daniel has been good from the bench and Leo hasn't had a chance since injury, unless we drop a striker for him.
Allegedly
I think we'll stick with 442 though.

Durante Sigmund Dodd Lochhead
Brown Johnson
Gao Kwasnik
Smeltz
Coveny
Bench
Mckain
Paston
Daniel
Bertos
I'd love to stick Draper on the bench, but can't find room for him. The only player I would consider dropping would be Johnson, for Draper/Ferrante. Would Durante play at right back? Or do you think that the captain must play in his normal position, especially if he is looking to get in the 'roos?
so OUT: Hearfield, Draper, Costa, Plodder, Mulligan, Muscat, Ferrante
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet
ha I remember you being a bit happy on the boards that game.
Why Paston ahead of Moss?
Johnson has shown more than Ferrante has this season. Ferrante has been the most disappointing player out of everyone (when he's got a chance) for me.
a.haak

Muscat Durrante Sigg Lochead
Brown
Bertos Gao
Daniel
Smeltz Coveny
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Gao Daniel

Queenslander 3x a year.
let's hope dodd is played at centre back and not thrown into midfield again this season. hopefully a lesson learnt there. i think we'll have the measure of them this week you know.
Bench:
Paston
Dodd
Hearfield
Draper
I like the look of this team, it won't happen but I still like it.
Bring McKain on in a defensive central mid posy for Kwasnik and put daniel out on the left. Hearfield could come on for Gao/Daniel when either look like they're crapping out and Plodder on for Bertos who may be lacking a bit of match fitness.
Ricky, I hope you're listening.
I know, I know, its serious!
Should be- but wont be.
PLEASE NOTE MCKAIN PLAYED DM FOR AUSTRALIA B4 U SAY PUTTING CENTRE BACKS IN THE MIDFIELD DOESNT WORK.
and i dont get why they aren't picking McKain- DURANTE HAS BEEN sh*t. Look at that goal the other week where his sh*t marking led to a goal- terrible.

Anyone think it would be interesting to see what Leilei could do sitting in behind Smeltz as a kind off half striker half attacking midfielder
Queenslander 3x a year.
No. Attacking midfielder is an advanced midfielder position from the midfield block, but that is not a half striker.
I think he meant Gao being the "man in the hole "which is a very advanced attacking midfield position, sometimes known as a "deep lying forward." He would then act as the offensive pivot of the team, to create goal-scoring opportunities for his team mates, and perhaps to score himself. He may be referred to as the playmaker and are not constrained to a single position (like the attacking midfielder is)- creativity is the only true requirement, and good passing ability and tactical awareness help
Gao also has the option of being able to push on the last man on defence like a striker giving a gap for another midfielder to push up and then change back into an attacking midfielder to assist the midfield passing game if need be.
Depends on the situation and his understanding of the game. This is for the most astute of players because they have to be intelligent, skillful and quick as well.
Teddy Sheringham is an typical example of 'dropping off' his strike partner, Alan Shearer finding spaces, creating play and providing key passes, forming the link between Shearer and the England midfield.
