Well, I'm already looking forward to next week after the dissapointing end to last nights game.
Hoping we can extend the unbeaten run at home to 21 games and get 3 points on the board.

Also hoping for some sunshine for once on a nice dry pitch

Same starting line up for me if North isn't allowed to play? (excuse my lack of knowledge if this HAS been sorted out, iv had my precious internet connection taken from me for a few days)!!

Pity we don't really have anyone who could kick Hearfield off the bench and into stands to watch the game.

Pavlovic? Then leave the back four as it is. Which is wise I reckon in a game. And if there are injurys then Lia drops back. I think Hearfield is still a good bench option with his versatility.

I don't see why Ricky wouldn't use the same starting 11. At the end of the day, they did quite well for about 73', so can't see anyone pushing for a starting spot unless injuries occur during the week. What's the latest on North?

Yeah same 11 I think. But maybe changes on the bench. Though I'd be quite happy with the same 15.

No change to starting line up or bench.

Hearfield is a lot better than he has showed so far this season and offers a lot of options (full back or mid field), I think he just needs a bit of game time and  his confidence will return.

P.S. Vukovic has been released by his Turkish club - maybe a short term injury replacement for Crowther ?
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Yeah i would say the same starting line up for sure. Although i don't think Hearfield deserves to lose his place, not to mention we dont really have any other decent defensive cover.

I mean, it wasn't all his fault we kind of lost our rhythm when we changed our shape, and the first goal was kind of Bertos' fault for losing possession so easily. And the second one both Hearfield and Durante lost their footing, giving a free cross to a free header.

Already? That would be an awesome replacement. And could even start ahead of Paston.

Hmm i dont think we have midfielders good enough to play 4-2-3-1 so i hope we revert back to a 4-3-3. We just didnt hold on to possesion long enough for a 4-2-3-1.

Mate, after last nights performance I would rather have Leilei G** on his PSP between the sticks.

Paston >>>>> Vukovic

Only keepers in the league i'd take over Pasty are Theo and Galekovicvaleo2010-08-14 21:29:56

Over reaction (surprise surprise). Need to have a look at the replay to see the save Paston made before the end of the match that kept it at a draw.

Which one should he have saved? The wide open free header, the tap in from the six yard box on the cutback, or the header right into his bottom left corner?

Why can't North play?

Tromso are holding him till the end of his contract (31 Aug) unless they sign a new defender.
Permalink Permalink
over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
How does that work? did we sign him on a bosman rather than a transfer?
Permalink Permalink
over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Yeah I think so. I believe we thought that they'd release him early because they don't want him and know he's only going to stay for a few more weeks. But then they got a bit short on defenders.

Seems an age ago, but remember back to before we had the great run into the final last season we had a string (about 10) games that ended in a draw with us throwing it away near the end of the match. Lets hope we can reduce that to 3 this year, and that we have already seen one of them.

not sure if it quite reached 10 but it really was a traumatic period

some of them felt as bad as most losses do

The goal Grossman scored for Fury in the 93rd minute at RoF was the real kick-the-tele-in one. Funnily enough he did the same against Perth last week.

[QUOTE=tigers]not sure if it quite reached 10

Admittedly not all thrown away in the last minutes but bloody frustrating all the same
I'll accept six this year and two lives in the playoff

Wasn't it a league record for consecutive draws? It was painful

agree - the table never lies

there were 10 overall, but i still think the dreadful sequence was a wee way off 10

I would put North in ahead of Sigmund but as the former is not released from Norway yet same starting 11.

Don't understand why anyone would want Paston replaced, both he and Moss kept their respective teams in the match.

Doubt Vukovich would come here to sit on the bench.

Yep. Same game were Daniel missed the tap-in goal and there was another good chance to bury the game.

Then Grossman scores from Fowler's free kick in the 94th minute.

Nix had 6 consecutive draws early on and the Steve-O thread was born.

I think after last season we have all learnt to not jump the gun to early with the Sack Ricki threads etc.

Last year we didn't start that great but finished brilliantly.

GA= 29

= 2nd best equal defensively in the league.

Shocked to see us ship 3 under any circumstances, though it was great to be up by 2. Would happily take 7 draws in a row and two finals at the ROF again. Would like to see us win more, but not at the expense of being a leaky defence. If we finish in the same position or better I don't mind how we got there...

edit: in fact it should be noted that last years champions actually scored 2 less than us, but conceded 6 less overall.

i think we need to start well to raise interest and increase crowds. once people experience the game many will keep coming back, and if we are having good results. this number will only increase

I'm hoping 2-0, but CCM looked good against Adelaide at the end of that last game
