OK, Paston didn't put a foot wrong in this game, but he does not inspire confidence at all. Every time he goes for a catch from a cross, my heart jumps into my mouth.oh, and Greenacre is class.

a half crocked Paston is still better than a fully fit McMaster - that is the point that you have to get into your thick head

I thought we were a bit average. Will be interesting to see how we go in Aussie. The midfield needs to start firing, we were resorting to long ball a bit much for my liking. Ifill was pretty much the worst I've seen him and he still scored a ripper, love that man.

Toto looked okay and he does have a bit of pace but still need to see more

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

got up for this game at noon (ko time in japan) still hangover frm the night before, but it was worth it, great to get the 3 points, and ifill was average
great goal tho

did think his goal went well wide when first seen until seen the net bulge, was a weird but great strike

I thought overall it was a very poor game and Ifill was poor (though he took his goal very well indeed).

Disappointed with the crowd (anything under 10 000 I usually am) but hopefully a win against the Roar and whoever else before our next home game will bring more people in.

Do we still need to get about 10 000 to break even?  Tony P said that 2 seasons ago but could well have changed.

Roar and then Glory.

Basically the two form teams of the competition (with the Fury), so no problems there then.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Just as angsty, though

Bloody tough two games coming up. Then Sydney at home who despite their table position beat us comfortably 4 times last season.

Would be happy with 4 points from those games.  Though if we have to lose either then I hope it's to Brisbane.  It physically hurts me when we lose to Perth and I don't hate their players as much as you seem to, HN, so it must hurt you even more.

Was personally glad not to see the goober who was pissed out of his tree, on tequila, cheering on the opposition in the last five minutes, as was the case last friday.

Almost (but not quite) what LG said

McGlinchey showed some nice touches. Hopefully he starts against Paraguay.

Also, what dumbarse dreamed up CCM's away kit which just has the same colour as the home kit. Isn't the idea that your away kit is totally different so you don't clash with other teams. Itwould be like Man Utd having red & black stripes or Chelsea having blue & black stripes as their away kits.

performace wasn't great but its 3 points in the bag and we should all be grateful we are good enough to have played badly and still won.

improvement needed for friday, but all the boys know and understand this and im fully confident they will improve without the need for constant whinging on here.

BillK and LG would be ahead of you in that queue. Without ringing his neck they have given him some advice.

I enjoyed the game as well.  Nice sunny day. 2 good goals.
And the result never seemed in doubt.

I thought some of the combinations looked a bit rusty and McAlister looked out of sorts and a bit
frustrated.  At one point - late in the second half - he seemed to be have a few words with a team-mate who put in a less than stellar pass.

All this talk about scrappy/ugly game etc might not be interely our fault. Think about it. Everyone knows that the ROF is our fortress. So they come here thinking....if we can nick a point then it will be job well done. with that in mind teams coming here will probably play more conservatively....even maybe a bit negatively.

So the Nix will have to work even harder to try and break teams down. We won this one 2-0 in a very workman like way.....3 points is great. As a spectacle...well maybe we will need to be up against a team that will go at us hard before we get an open entertaing game. I am not sure there are many teams in the A-League who will take that approach. In the mean time if we get 3 points at home most of the season and then pick up the odd point away then we will be there abouts at the seasons end.
