What other games have been postponed in the A-League before? I think some game(s) were postponed due to the Queensland floods? Any others?

The rain will be lighter than current before K/O, just checking out weather maps now..

Wind will still be pretty dire.Azevo2012-01-08 11:19:26

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Last time the weather was like this for a home game, we beat Perth 4-0 and Danny Vukovic hit the crossbar.

No need to panic yet, the pitch is currently draining as it should. The GCU game was a little different because the rain started at kick off and we had about a months worth of rain during that 90 minutes. The pitch probably wasnt draining quite so well in a couple of areas at that stage either but we'll see how it goes this afternoon. You always have a rough idea of the drainage rates but you never really know until it is tested like it is today. One thing is for sure, it will be slippery and may be a bit of a messy game but hopefully the rain eases enough and we don't see any pooling. Will also be interesting if we're leading after 80, and if Gazza Morgan is keen enough to head down to the zone.

Fuck this stupid game

I'm hoping for a 93rd minute winner from Siggy, a la Christchurch v2. Anything else would possibly cause hypothermia.

Pack:

sealed in a watertight plastic bag.

think today may be greeny's hour - i always feel like he does best in the wet.

Bring out the wet weather squad, with our less technical players given more rest.

FIRE UP!!

Also pack snorkel & goggles.

Just been out to lunch.  Not cold in the wind, even though it's from the south.  Lots of moisture though.  I'd say 100% humidity.

After the infamous GCU game, I had to spend a night in hospital and have a week off with suspected pneumonia due to my personal pride of always standing in the same spot and always taking mys shirt off.

I have grown up a little now..... probably

I'm slightly disappointed!

I've always wondered about the absurdity of the Nix merchandise being completely tied into to the A league. They'd make a small fortune selling Yellow and Black umbrellas and wet weather gear.

Just finished getting suited up for the game.

Wert weather leggings. Offshore wet weather jacket. Harken Sailing shoes with the non skid soles. Beanie.

It's far from sunbathing weather today, that's for sure.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

You'd have to be a silly bugger to go out in this, but a chap has to do what a chap has to do. 4-1 Nix.

nix ponchos would sell like hot cakes today. They'd be a cheap way of staying dry on the walk up and back.

The first goal in this game will be the 2000th goal in the Aleague since its inception.

Please note I am back from the UK after missing the 13 goals scored in the last 2 home games. Therefore, today has 0-0 written all over it! Apologies in advance.

A few had already said that Ifill would be on the bench, and given the conditions there's certainly no way he should have been starting. Need to win this at home to Perth without him starting, and get him in good shape for some away wins.

If it's close, I'll be hoping for some earlier than usual subs, as that's a good bench we've got.
