What's the plan for the match day? I arrive at like 10am and will be thirsty.

Or Vim, you could check out the Christchurch Phoenix Club Members Facebook page. I'm trying to organise a bus which will cost between $107 and $134 (depending on how many people take the deal) which includes travel, accommodation and a ticket in the FZ.

edit - Also even if you're not keen yourself, don't be afraid to let other people know :)

In the process of working out the best location for pre- and post- match. Long Room would be great but the Phoenix are keen on developing a relationship with a bar/pub and that puts Long Room out as they aren't available outside of match days. Ideally said bar/pub would serve as a week-to-week place to watch the Phoenix in season.

Any suggestions gratefully welcomed.

I am responsible, and an adult. I could arrange to be sober around lunchtime on Saturday, but we are doing the Taieri Gorge Railway on the Saturday. Sorry mate.

Looks like there is a slight spanner in the works and I need paid professional help.

Might be able to get something on the cheap - fingers crossed for that and hoping I can find someone to pay for it.

Phew, transport organised, accomodation organised, just need to get the tickets! I loved the trip last season, Soooooo looking forward to it again.

Funniest momment at the game was about a certain Roar player with a rooster hairstyle - "That's gotta be the worst fucking hair cut I have ever seen". And even the goalkeeper heard it and cracked up laughing.

Those threes were awesome, classic gag that.

It was fantastic that we are talking about the three's, and not the two's from before the game ;)

You lot must have done some heavy anti-jinxing to get away with that kind of presumptuous behaviour haha

Forgot who came up with the idea to add 3s (the 2s were Patrick's genius) but yes, we dodged a bullet there lol. We had discussed how they would just remain forgotten under out seats and when that second goal was scored late in the piece we were so delirious it was incredible that we even remembered to get them back out!

Having that featured on Fox Sport is something special I'll always remember. Cheers Patrick and others!

Ok slight change of plans for Saturday lunchtime now. I still need volunteers but for a different role. Can I please have some bright yellow people who will kindly volunteer to walk through George Street to the Octagon (no more than 10-15 minutes) handing out flyers for the game in a group? The more the better to be honest, so please give this some thought. The assembly time will probably be around 11:45am, and the walk (think Fever Friday only it's Saturday) will end up in the Octagon where the field will be set up for some games to be played.

Thanks!!

Hi everyone, a reminder that if you are going to the game, please consider getting them as part of our Yellow Fever group booking. This will be the best way we can establish a good base for Feverites to chant together and encourage others to do so too. Also this will minimise any potential problems about people complaining that we are standing up, etc. etc.

Also, regardless of how you are getting tickets, could you please get in touch and let me know which flights you are arriving and departing on? I am in the process of trying to organise transport to and from the airport which is faster, more comfortable, AND cheaper than any other option available. But this relies on minimum numbers so please get in touch for the benefit of everyone.

Hi everyone,

Just been looking into airport transfers and the best option in town is the highly recommended Jaguar Limousines which MUST be pre-booked. I have the following confirmed pricing which is cheaper than other options, is more comfortable, will get your faster into town, and you'll be with other Feverites.

$80 for up to 4 ($27 each for 3, $20 each for 4)

$110 for up to 7 ($22 each for 5, $18.50 each for 6, and $16 each for 7)

If you need transfers PLEASE email me ASAP as these need to be booked and are subject to availability. I will match you up with others on the same flights and help with bookings. Sunday has limited availability due to people arriving for the Cricket Test. Saturday is looking good at the moment. Cheers!

When it comes to pre-game boozers, wouldn't the Oriental be the closest stadium venue that could handle a crowd?

Cheap flights to Timaru this morning if anyone is still looking to travel down but wants to cut costs. Would have to figure out how to get to Dunedin from there obviously but the flight is about $100 cheaper.

Shit that's ridiculous. Damn you Air NZ.
FYI for anyone that doesn't know Timaru is about 2 hours drive from Dunedin. Give it 2:15 though.

Edit: And you're already on to a winner with your after-match partay.

Who said there was going to be an after-match? It's in bed and lights out by 9 isn't it?

Mel woulda loved the after match get together in the Octagon.

I reckon it was an absolute all time Phoenix highlight last visit. Best location of any road trip to date. Short easy walk from the ground, plenty of options for people who want to move away from the throng and get a meal, or a drink, or a room nearby... and the bar really looked after us too.

Yeah, having the post-match drinks in the Octagon was great, not too far away and it meant that it was easy to stagger back to the accommodation nearby. I still remember Fred de Jong drunkenly walking rounds with a couple of bowls of wedges, offering a wedge to every single person at the bar. Gold.
