Thanks Ahmad.

Legend.

Again.

Booked and paid for.

We (me and Lise) fly down on NZ689 leaving Wellington at 2.55pm Friday March 1st, and fly back on NZ5048 Leaving Dunedin at 9.10am on Monday 4th March. We are staying at Livingspace, and are planning on hiring the awesome Jaguar Limosines we hired last trip. With 4 in a car, if we hire 2 cars it is cheaper than the shuttles/taxis to and from the airport. Worked out last time at under $20 per person each way - we paid $20 per person each way including a tip.

So - We are looking for people on the same flights )or on flights at similar times who want to share a Jaguar Limosine into and out of the city.

Please PM me or txt or call me on 029 234 7737.

Disappointed that half the people that I have contacted today can't/won't come because they would have to miss work/other commitments on Monday.

I'm not convinced that the Sunday afternoon timing was better than Saturday afternoon ;(

Saturday night would have been ideal. No doubt I'll be able to rally some troops from Timaru though. Are you going to do a fever zone again Ahmad? Was bloody excellent last time.

Hi Marshy,

I can't take credit for the Fever Zone - all of this management stuff is way out of my hands. My hope is that whatever happens we can make an awesome job of it again, no matter what we are dealt.

I am intending on making another "block booking" so that the Fever core can all be allocated tickets in one area. Yes I totally understand that Fever Zone is unallocated standing room, but a lot of people buy tickets without being told this and do get a little intimidated when a group of Fever explains that to them and asks them to move if they want to sit down.

So stay tuned for details and please purchase your tickets via me in this group booking if possible so that we can have a decent area of seats where we can all squeeze into and create some much wanted atmosphere.

Keep in touch - we are connected on FaceBook right? Your new username confused me ^_^

Cheers,
Ahmad.

I have emailed the Taieri Gorge railway (see http://www.taieri.co.nz/trip.htm) to ask if they would give a bulk discount for a group booking.

We are flying down on the Friday and plan to do the Taieri Gorge Rail journey on Saturday (Leaves Dunedin 9.30am).

So, let me know if you are keen for a day trip up the Taieri Gorge, with a bit of sight seeing, a bit of food, a bit of quality beer...

What annoys me is that I booked a flight when this match was first announced. Can't remember exact amount but it was about $250 return Wellington - Dunedin.

Well look at that, I'm on the same two flights as you! Unfortunately I will be staying about 6km outside the city, so it'll be cheaper for me to get a shuttle from the airport than to catch the limo into town and then use public transport to get out to Tahuna.

You sure Patrick... we could easily drop you where you are staying on the way in - it's 30km from the airport to the stadium (see https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Dunedin+Airport,+Momona,+Otago,+New+Zealand&daddr=Forsyth+Barr+Stadium,+Dunedin,+Otago,+New+Zealand&hl=en&sll=-45.927649,170.196606&sspn=0.022895,0.059867&geocode=FT5AQ_0dvQslCiEwsFllh-8ADyn3_KTyWwUsqDEwsFllh-8ADw%3BFYwWRP0dLfwpCim5lUFGQawuqDFWrv9n9oUV_Q&oq=forsyth&mra=ls&t=m&z=12) so 24 km (ish) to where you are staying...

Oh of course, it wouldn't cost more to take a slight detour like a taxi would. You could always drop me off somewhere between the city and Tahuna Road, and I could walk the rest. Could be onto a winner here.

When the Ashes were in Aussie last, I was very surprised that they didn't schedule A-League games where the English were playing. Barmy Army under the roof in Dunedin would make for a great atmosphere.

On sale from 9am tomorrow.

Fever Zone has moved again, in a much better place this time IMO. It's much larger too, so it's going to take a lot of people to fill the whole standing area.

This. Due in part, i suspect because they've moved the TV cameras to the other side as opposed to last year. (Now in top of Nth/Ticketdirect Stand).

Fever Zone was in Section D last time, down in one of those front blocks. It was only four rows deeps, so spread out quite a way down the half. Hopefully we can just put the core Yellow Fever in the middle of that Fever block, and all the students etc who just want to get in on the action, but don't know any of the chants, can spread around us.

Also, just like last time, there is no designated Away Zone. This is poor form, considering there is at least a few Heart fans coming over that I know of.

If I recall correctly, Ahmad did a block booking to keep all the Fever together. Wonder if he would be able to do so again.

Hi everyone, thanks for keeping me in the loop. I would have liked to have known about this but oh well. I guess that would be asking too much.

Please DO NOT buy your tickets tomorrow morning if you would be so kind as to support the initiative that we started with the last Nix game in Dunedin.

I will be on the phone first thing in the morning to make a booking on behalf of Yellow Fever in the Zone. This way, we can ensure that we get a good group of Fever faithful all standing together in the heart of the Zone and work better for chants etc.

You might ask why this is necessary since the Zone is officially GA. The fact is that last time there was an allocated seat number on tickets and some people did get a bit miffed that they had to move. This way we can guarantee a block of seats for us to stand in, and then others can squeeze in with us.

So please please support this initiative and stay tuned for details of how you can get tickets in this block booking. Like last time, tickets would need to be acquired from me directly as the system wouldn't allow otherwise, but hopefully you all trust me enough with this!

Please help make my job easier and spread the word. If you want to make a booking please hit me up!

Cheers, Ahmad.

Great work Ahmad, and I encourage everyone to get behind this group booking. Last time, there were a load of people who bought tickets in the Yellow Fever Zone who had no idea what it was all about, and had no idea about any of the chanting etc. The way it ended up was that Ahmads group booking ended up effectively being the Fever Zone, just with many others standing around that smaller area. I wasn't a part of this group booking last year, and bought a ticket separately, and my allocated seat was two whole sections away from the rest of the core Fever.

Basically, Ticket Direct are a shambles, and this initative from Ahmad essentially takes them out of the organisation of the Fever Zone. As a result, I highly reccomend not purchasing tickets until Ahmad has sorted out a group booking for us, and I trust him completely to sort this all out for us.

EDIT: Got Ticketmaster and Ticket Direct mixed up.

I thought Ticket Direct was doing the tickets.  But if it's a shambles as with ticketek has been in the past I'll wait for Ahmads deal.

Permalink Permalink

Hi George, yes indeed it is Ticket Direct. I'm not sure who exactly is to blame but last time ticketing wasn't great. Unsure whether this was due to TD or if the blame lay elsewhere.

With regards ticket pricing, individual tickets will cost no more than purchasing yourself (probably slightly cheaper due to a lower booking fee) but I'm pretty sure there is no bulk discount so it won't be significantly cheaper. You will however be supporting the Club by ensuring that Yellow Fever has a decent presence at the game - by having a strong group of Feverites congregating, our vocal support will be as strong as possible and encourage others to join in.

Yeah Ahmads fever zone was fantastic last time, the block booking was a great initiative.  Nothing like this happened in Christchurch this year and the fever zone sort of fizzled out in to obscurity.

Hi everyone!

Booking on behalf of Supporters of Yellow Fever are confirmed! There is no booking fee, and no group discount so all you pay is the face value of your ticket:

$25 Adults, $15 students with ID, $10 child, $60 for 2 Adults and 2 Children.

We have the first 6 rows in aisle 303A in the seating plan above. That's 6 rows deep, 22 seats across.

Please get in touch if you want to buy tickets. There is no DM here so either leave your email here in a format that won't be eaten up by spambots, or alternatively you can get me on twitter - @ahmadnz. I can also be contacted by FaceBook message to the Phoenix Dunedin Club Members page.

Come on you 'Nix!

Footnote - potential fail here... I hope those in rows behind us don't complain that we are standing up...
