Ricki saying Musa is an option for CB this week? Risky stuff in my opinion.

He strikes me as more of a centre back than a wing back.

It staggers me that Ricki would consider this, but it's probably just 'talk'. Musa didn't look that convincing in his first game and the Nix's defence has been porous enough this season, even with Durante at CB.

If Ricki's going to take any chances, I'd rather see him start Rojas.

Musa played his last game at LB - he is not an LB, confident at CB - he'll be fine.

Queenslander 3x a year.

^ Agree. THink he will be far better at CB, though would rather it was dura he was playing with not for :(

North is experienced enough to guide Musa through. I like the idea, it's the kid's natural position which he is most comfortable with and I think Siggy is ready to make the RB position his own, some of his runs forward have been brilliant. So in the interests of having minimal disruption to the back 4, having Musa slot in for Dura at CB makes perfect sense.

I'm looking forward to Siggy Dura North Lochhead in the NY.

For this game i'd really be keen to see this....

               Vuko
Siggy     Musa      North    Hearfield
               Muscat
           Lia       Brown
      Ifill     BigMac    Greenie

But I can see a front 3 of Ifill, Greenie and Bertos happening, which leaves the same old sh*t of Greenie up front by himself. It makes me sad.

You want him to play Rojas at centre back?

currently Leo is undeserving of a starting spot for me, and Greenis up front on his own is just downright sh*t

Who takes the captains arm band? Im worried if it is Brown, because, apart from a couple of goals, he seems to be a bit absent on the field, and starting to get overly aggro than usual. Dont really want the pressure of captain to have him self destruct.

A game without Durante... wow...

Holy crap we need to win this weekend.
It guts me that weve showed a few tantalising glimpses but cant get a flow on.
I know we can do it and it has to be now.
A big motherf**king barnstorm run into the finals, please Santa

                   Vukovich

I'm pretty sure that Tim Brown takes the captains arm band.
I'm also a little worried about that.

This is one of the few times I am not worried.
The Jets are not good enough to beat us at home.

well let's hope so because we're playing them at home twice before the season is out (remember Sat's game was supposed to have been in ChCh).

not convinced Brown is captain material. why not Ifill?

I'd take Siggy as Captain tbh. Not sure if Ifill is always the most motivating type

What makes you say that??
I reckon he gives a lot to the team, and is way more experienced

If you're not worried about the Phoenix taking to the field then surely that is a sign for concern in itself.

Doesnt mean much, we get pantsed by anyone away

Although the Jets have struck fine form, and have had the best defensive record since round 1

Ljubo Milicevic is out for his red card last night. This is a good thing, both teams missing their captains.

He was missing last time and their defence was still far to good for us.

Still, a win keeps us in the hunt.

Think they may be missing wehrman as well? Not sure?

Our best shot to win this game is to attack and attack and put heaps of pressure on their backline in my opinion

Not sure, just sometimes he does seem to get overly frustrated at others. Maybe that was a bit more last year. Giving him the armband may in fact bring more out of him perhaps? I wouldn't mind him taking it.

Just think someone like Siggy would do a damn good job

Yup Wehrman's also out, so is Wheelhouse, and Kanta is injured.

I'm still not sure If Ricki will play Musa this game. I'm thinking he might now as there was no sign of him for last nights game which could only mean that hes not being risked for this weeks game.

The 4 defenders are therefore set in stone as Hearfield, Musa, North and Siggy. But where Musa will play is the more interesting question? CB is his natural position so that would make sense, but Siggy would be a less risk surely.

Having Musa and Hearfield next to eachother in the back line doesnt seem very promising

If their whole squad was available they would be quite dangerous

Greenacre and Brown are the two current vice captains, and Brown is Ricki's All Whites vice captain, so not much chance of anyone but TB taking the armband.

Ifill has captained Barbados before, so is an option, Siggy doesn't strike me as the type to calmly represent the team when talking to the ref.
You know we belong together...
