Swapping Daniel in for Disco, I'd say that's about right

PLEASE START PASTON!

Why do you think he started in both All Whites matches?? Ricki was using them to get him match fit

Are you serious, it seemed slightly tongue in cheek, but it could end up being true. Ricki was probably using the matches as a trial I reckon

A trial? Like he has never seen Paston play before?

Ricki knows what he can do aleady.

Fair point, but surely he still needs to get some game play comparison between Paston and Vuko
I'd still start Vuko

                   Vukovic/Paston

        Sigmund     Durante     North

                    Muscat

    Ifill      Brown       Ward     Bertos

              Pavlovic      Greenacre

Subs: Paston/Vukovic, MacAllister, Toto, Hearfield/Musa.

Far as I'm concerned Brown's on his last chance.  Rubbish performance and he's out with Ifill moving forward, Bertos moving to the right, and Daniel taking over on the left.

Also, Diego looked absolutely rubbish at the Phoenix training.  Lazy passing, almost like he didn't want to be there.

Diego taken over from Mulligan as the contracted player not getting to play.
Would be hard to be stuck in that position to be honest, not sure how Mulligan survived so long.

I agree, Brown has to be on his last chance before getting benched. If Bertos doesn't spark up this Sunday, I'd say he's gotta be close to get a rest for a week as well.

We have been away for 3 weeks so I apologise for any confusion but surely the back page of Saturday's (Weekend edition) of Dom Post is in error when it says Lions vs Taranaki at Westpac at 7.35pm TOMORROW???

There wont be time to get the goals changed over!!!

News article says Ricki is looking to play 3 at the back with this game, so I hope that turns out to be a good thing for us.

All the boys are going to have to be on fire, because Alex Terra will cause us problems otherwise.

Also hoping for no brain explosions of the Yellow kind, as we really dont need our players to be on eggshells because of something really stupid like backchat to the ref or something.Ard Righ2010-10-16 12:59:04

Hmm, close.. But I think Ward will be more in behind Ifill and Greenacre as opposed to being striker.

I haven't had the chance to read the papers this week, has Ricki given anything away as to who will be in goal?

I'm not sure I like playing Sigmund in a back 3, too slow. And I heard we were playing some wingbacks, in which case I'd prefer Hearfield over Muscat, who can play in the centre

He had a great first season and I'm not saying hes bad but I think a week on the bench could be good for him. I think teams have caught onto the one trick he has he can hardly beat his man anymore

according to the Herald article
"Herbert has hinted there will be changes, with Mark Paston set to be rewarded for his good work both in training and in two outings for the All Whites with a first start in goal this season.

"It is no reflection on how Danny Vukovic has done more that Mark deserves a chance," said Herbert.

I wouldn't mind this actually:
                 Vukovic
    Sigmund      Durante   North
           Lia          Muscat
Ifill                           Bertos
                 Ward
          Greenacre Pavlovic

With Muscat and Lia sliding back to make it a back four when required and Bertos doing so where necessary as well. I guess it leaves a lot of scope for the Heart to use pace out wide.

Probably. Not really that fussed. While I want to see Kiwis playing for us I would rather the best possible players available played.
