Anyone know much about it*?

I hear some mob from Melbourne are flying over for a kick-around, once the All Whites have done their bit for the city.

The match is in Wellington.....and the name's Jag!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Ifill at game tonight - I thought he was away playing for Barbados ? Maybe I have my dates wrong - anyway if he went he is back with plenty of time to rest up for Sunday.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

I hope the break has helped the players focus. Looks Leo might be going into one of his hot spells. Pasty will be back (he caught that corner cross!!). Siggie has had his brain explosion so will be solid now.

Maybe a TAB punt coming on.

You got your dates right - there was a cockup with the passports of all of the foreign-based players on the Barbados team, thus Ifill was ineligible to play. He's probably come home early as a result.

Just quietly Brockie to get his first start of the season? Of sh*t, hang on, that'd mean we'd have a winger who's currently firing! Sign him up Ricki.

I'm back, and here is my prediction (I'm usually right....only three wrong in the last two years).

(Drum Roll........................)
Phoenix 2, the other mob 2.

Leo is coming back to form, and so is Ifill, but this side are looking hot. See you there- the record will be ours!

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

I am a little worried that our home record will be under signficant threat this Sunday.

Heart have started to show some in the last few games and they will be gelling now after their win over their fellow tards.

For us I do hope that Leo, Ifill & Pasty have got their mojo back.  And that Tim also discovers some form.

I would like to see the team all wearing lucky bandages for this game - very crucial we do well paritcularly with hard games up next against the cakes, Kosta's Krew & Perf away.

Wellington Phoenix (5) v Melbourne Heart (8)
Sunday, 17 October 2010, Westpac Stadium 5:00pm local (3:00pm AEDT)

- Wellington Phoenix are aiming for their 24th consecutive undefeated match at Westpac Stadium, which would create a new Australian national league record for not losing in consecutive matches at the same venue. The previous time a team went for 23 undefeated matches at a venue was when Sydney United went 23 consecutive matches without defeat at Sydney United Sports Centre from 1996 to 1999. The last time Wellington lost at Westpac Stadium was against Brisbane Roar (L0-1) on 26-Oct-08. Throughout this time Wellington have also played home matches at FMG Stadium Manawatu (12-Dec-09, L0-1 v Sydney) and AMI Stadium Christchurch (30-Jan-10, W1-0 v Adelaide United)

Just some information for your perusal

Are you serious, it seemed slightly tongue in cheek, but it could end up being true. Ricki was probably using the matches as a trial I reckon

Heart down two of their starters - Sibon and (I'm assuming) the guy who got red carded (2 yellows) against the Victory.

Not aware of any new injuries so assume we are at full strength aside from Lochhead.

We are well and truly overdue a complete performance - hopefully Sunday !!

Fair point, but surely he still needs to get some game play comparison between Paston and Vuko

Eh - Vuko only got in because Paston was injured. The only way Paston will get back in is if Vuko makes a series of errors or gets injured. They are pretty comparable keepeers with their own strengths/weaknesses (Paston pretty shaky on free kicks, Vuko rushes out too often)

Saw the Phoenix training, Crowther was playing so well.  Ifill couldn't score and eventually screamed a high-pitched feminine scream which made all the boys lol.  Also, Musa tackled Pavlovic quite hard, the latter of whom lay there having a cry while everyone kept on training.  Seemed to be OK by the end, though.

I hope this is the last we hear about that record until we eventually lose it.  It's so irritating to read about especially considering we can't feel fully proud claiming it with the Palmy result meaning we have to specify that it was at our usual home ground.

Oh, and Vukovic should play in the mid.  He was at training and wasn't at all out of his depth.

So I think we CAN feel fully proud about it.
