If you have season tickets and aren't planning to attend the game in Auckland (or have no one to give them too) I'm happy to take them again and to either use them for Ronald McDonald House in Auckland or another worthy charity. You can claim your tickets from Ticket Master as per post 1.

When I did this last time it didn't matter and people just claimed tickets and they went to the house to use. But also, we weren't doing well and game was never going to be a sell out. Probably ok to just claim them again and if I run into problems around seat allocation, I can discuss directly with the Nix.

I just got one from my Season's Ticket and while I didn't specifically say that it 'seats' me in the Fever Zone in Wellington, they must have worked that out from my name/ticket info as they've put my Eden Park ticket in the equivalent Fever Zone up there (Section 413 and thereabouts - North Stand)

I'm keen to check out the 'Auckland Phoenix Experience'. Yahoo!

Actually doing that through ticketmaster is dead easy and maybe its a good way to do a little bit extra to help the 'metrics'. If enough season's ticket holders make the effort it might even make a difference/continue the momentum generated over recent weeks.

Good worthy initiative by the way Yakcall!

Has anyone actually physically recieved there tickets yet? I bought mine 2-3 weeks ago, still waiting for it to arrive in the mail.

I bought tickets to a lecture on the same day through the same company and they arrived within one week.

I’ve managed to persuade a lapsed footy fan to attend, and have just booked $180 Jetstar flights. See you all for a couple of cheeky wee pre-match bevies.

Hi all,

We've struck a deal with the good folk at Morningside Tavern. 16 McDonald St, Sandringham. Just a short walk to the ground.

They are putting on jug specials on beer and cider all day and night. $10 off pizza between 2pm - 4pm. You just need to be wearing Phoenix/Fever gear or present a match ticket to get the specials.

They will also be showing the Jets v City game afterwards so head back there post game.

Spread the work. See you there.

Just a question for you Auckland folk about Stadium Culture at Eden Park. At Westpac (for nix games at least) you just amble in and plonk yourself anywhere you like - no-one seems to be too bothered about that and nobody official ever seems to check seating. You just shift with a grin and a wave if anyone really wants their allocated seat. Sadly there are usually plenty of optional seats going so that is no problem.

What is it like at Eden Park? Are they OTT on that? Its just that I may want to join up with a bunch of other folk who its sounds like are going but who won't be in the Zone where I am.

Of course if you Auckland folk turn out in force and the place is heaving (hope so), then no worries - I'll stay put. But if there are pretty wide-open spaces - like at Westpac usually - is a bit of seating 'flexibility' acceptable at Eden Park?

Remember that Eden Park is 40K+ capacity and the crowd will be half that at most, you will definitely find space to sit with your friends.

I've really only been to Eden Park for All Blacks recently. But a while back when the Warriors played there we sat wherever we wanted, as we always do at Mt Smart

I've been to a lot of Nix games in Auckland (aside from any at QBE - coz fudge that place). The only time there was anything remotely resembling an issue with seating was the West Ham game and even then, in the second half we went over to join the YF. Unless you're taking premium seats, you should be fine.

I dunno, it's all a bit weird up here - like the people that sit in the YF zone and then complain that people are standing and blocking their view.

It really depends what, if anything is roped off and how many tickets are sold. I'm trying to organise tickets for my group together (which is a pain when you have a Northern Membership...) just to be on the safe side, but you'll probably be OK.

Thanks all. One of my Auckland people reckoned they were a bit fussy around that at Eden Park. But I sort of suspected that a half empty stadium eases such concerns.

I recall back in the early days at Westpac where Red Badge used to insist you showed a ticket for the zone before they'd let you through Ailses 20-22 etc. That didn't last though - our continued lack of any demonstrated rampant football hooliganism (despite our regularly demonstrated levels of 'un-kiwi' noise and enthusiasm etc) - as they seemed to be expecting - soon chilled them out considerably.

See you there!

The last time we were at Eden Park, some of the loyal Auckland Rugby fans bought tickets in the zone and Sat down. When it was explained to them how we all stand up and chant etc, they were not impressed and stayed seated till half time, then they moved away from the Zone.

If you want to be seen in the Zone, just beware of the surroundings, we stand, we chant/sing and we have fun. We DO NOT sit and we don't leave in the 80th minute.

A few years back I went to an all whites game v South Africa. I would say a large percentage of the all whites fans there were of Chinese descent. I may have not noticed except the Chinese friend with me kept talking to people he knew. In fact I remember we were saying if it wasn't for the Chinese-New Zealand fans the South Africans fans would have out numbered us.

Which has made me always wonder if the phoenix advertise their games in the Chinese New papers, radio stations and TV channels in Auckland?  There is obviously an appetite for football in that community. It could just come down to awareness and accessibility.

Couple years ago in my final high school football squad, I was one of five Pakeha - outnumbering us were Sri Lankans, Indians, and Chinese, with a group of Koreans as well. Huge appetite for football in many subcultures you wouldn't necessarily expect and I'd love to welcome them to support Kiwi football (most loved to play first and foremost, supporting maybe a Man U or Real Madrid in the process, not even a passing interest in Kiwi football). May be beneficial to brainstorm a few ideas like you mentioned to take advantage of their football interest

Does anyone know whether Auckland Transport will be offering free train/bus trips to those who show their tickets for the game?

So according to ticket master, there are no more tickets left for the game. Has it sold out?

I'm panicking, because I alsready spent money on flights and accommodation from Australia for the game. :(

Any chance that you may have a spare ticket in the zone? I've been in Melbourne for the past year, hanging in the zone for the away matches there. I have flights and accommodation booked, but apparently there are no tickets for the game left. Since it's my last game before I move to the US, I'm really gutted at the moment.

If you hear of anyone who has tickets, please let me know. I'm willing to pay double face value.

Thanks

Lad - I think you're doing something wrong. Eden Park's a 50k seat stadium.. it won't sell out.

There are still tickets available on ticketmaster - maybe the link you're using's corrupt?

Yeah it’s a bit dumb because those tickets are automatically assigned - I’m not sure where but not the zone..

You’ll need to email the club who can then email Ticketmaster and let them know you’re due a free ticket for the zone.

Yeah, I was dumbfounded when I saw it. I mean, I would love for the game to be sold out. Stick those metrics up em.

Basically, I went through the official site, that took me to the link. Checking it out today, the same link works, so maybe it wass down or something. It definitely did say tickets were unavailable last night though.

Anyway, TreeFiddy, thanks for providing the link and hopefully I will see you in the fever zone. I haven't been to a game since the last Melbourne game, whihc was insane. The biggest travelling away crowd I've seen. And we all had free drinks beforehand at Transport Bar, because the co-owner said anyone with wellington gear on drinks on the house.

Okay, now I'm getting excited :)
