disappointing, doesn't really send the right message to the fans, in my opinion

still it'll be a good night regardless, i'm sure we can can drink beer and talk football successfully   - even without our honoured guests

looking at it from the players point of view - i do wonder how the players feel about being asked for the 40th time, "how do you reckon we'll go this  season?"

I spoke with Durante after the game on wednesday night, he asked what we expected and what has happened.

i told him that the players with out family commitments came last year and he said he would organise it so some of them were there

We should suggest some alternate questions:

"So, how many Pies a day WAS Ahmad El**ch getting through ?"

"Reinaldo, Tall and rubbish or objectionable cheating twat ?"

"Do you wish it was you who punched Robbie Kruse in the face ?"

Last year we had fun trying to have a conversation with George that didnt involve him smiling and giving us a thumbs up regardless of what we said.

to be fair (and other sporting cliches), Tony P did suggest that he was going to sort this out

Hope he does manage to sort something out.........would be a shame not to ahve some of the players at the launch of the 2008 season for their fans!

Having said that I'd like to think some of them will also be at the Stadium open day on Sunday.

Queenslander 3x a year.

what how do you expect players to turn up to drinks at a pub then turn up to open days??
let alone signing signatures at champs - phoenix hours and the rest you cannot expect them to turn up to everything and when they do say no start whinging about it - it sounds and is ridiculous

so you obviously arent one for players reciprocating the kind of commitment that YFers have given the players? I dont think you have a clue about their time constraints, and they are not expected to drink obviously. Maybe you should have come last year - they came, mingled, and were gone after half an hour or so - and it was much appreciated.

This was planned months ago by the way- not sure about Champs thing or all of the players collectively on the Phoenix Hour this Sat at one time that you mention.

If you are not coming then shut it, if you are then come and introduce yourself and I might shout you a can of fanta.

f**king get in there son! That would be great to see

Pretty disappointing really. I imagine lots of people have given up time organising the event which ultimately benefits the club.

Still, each to their own I guess.

Good news. There will be players there  - Durante, Kwasnik, Hearfield, Sigmund and non players such as Herbert and Pignata. We will be there about 7.30pm so look forward to catching up.

Yet again you deliver Tony, that is mightily impressive.I wonder how many other clubs fans in the A league get the attention from their CEO that we do from you.

that's pretty exalted company - and all of the players new signings

(a canny coach and CEO too, of course

 - i wonder if Ricki ever graced Boothferry park on his travels with wolves, they might have past each other in 85 as City went up and wolves were on the slide? )

best we practice News's four bonus questions

your staff should be prepared to pull a few more pints now UG

looking like a good night is back to being a great night

Very humble. I seem to remember a stunning header at Newtown Park that would suggest otherwise....

I only wish I could be there myself. Just like last year, I have conflicting engagements. Though I might have time to pop in for one drink before 7:30pm and then leg it off. Last year, I got to meet just two people before having to run - Ginger Eejit and Ballane. Almost made up for leaving before the players arrived
