Friday won't do much for those figures I suspect, Wellington, unlike a lot of the Aussie cities will suffer from a lack of population due to the holidays.

as a slight aside, I assume next season we'll have 11 home games and 10 away (or if an expansion occurs 1 more home game than away games)

Should be 11 if no expansion lets hope they dont get to greedy with season ticket prices.Which should probably go on sale now just to allow us  to at least have some chance of getting then before the first game.

Yep, people will watch any reasonably high standard of sport here. It's great.

Our crowds are great but how about Newcastles? They only have a 280k pop though their crowds are probably boosted by games against Sydney and the Central Coast.

Sydney's crowds continue to be disappointing and I think QLD have dropped off a little too. CCM's are impressive thought they are big because of Sydney and Newcastle games. (however they got a huge crowd to the New Years game too)

There's a nasty saying that Melbournians will turn out en masse for the opening of an envelope...

Sydney lies and propaganda!

Yet Newcastle got 15,000 for the Nix game and I haven't heard of Newcastle being a tourist hotspot.  Similarly CCM and 18,000 for the Melbourne match - is Gosford a tourist destination?  No excuses, Wellington has to keep the numbers up.  Don't tell me people would prefer to watch NZ v Bangladesh in the cricket?

Even if they do, it'll be all over by 6pm - plenty of time to get to the game!

Mind you Gosford is probably alot smaller than Wellington.

I say tackle him in the face.

We'll get a huge crown in for this game against Sydney. Weather is great and has been all week, plus a win against Newcastle helps plenty.

Wellington City is smaller than Gosford, but adding in the Hutt's and stuff, Wellington is a little bigger. But if you do that for Wellington, you could add in Sydney for Gosford
