So as the FFA had admitted mistakes, does this mean Sigmund is no longer suspended this week?

Nope. Can't overturn yellow cards. Only straight reds.
I wouldnt be so annoyed with this if Williams was just as piss poor against the Heart, but the the Nix got all the decisions against them does make one wonder how Williams can be piss poor towards one team and not the other in the same game. Lack of concentration?
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
The other question no one has brought up here, even with all the anoraks, is if he did make mistakes, why? Was it because there was a desire to keep Heart in the finals with Kewell and all? Was it Ben Williams has a man-crush on Kewell? Was it cos he knows that any NZ side is 'rough' and so deserves sending offs?
Cos admitting mistakes is nice- they did it after Siggie's Geronimo game- but the only person with a card rescinded IIRC was Nick m-f-Ward. So Siggie has sat out a couple of suspensions for BS that is acknowledged as wrong. Someone can line up Kenny for a bit of MMA in the head and nothing.
that is easy - because he made the split second calls as he saw them. As it turned out, he got a number of those split second calls wrong. I know, shocking isn't it?
Seriously, there is no great conspiracy to keep us out of the finals, or ensure that another team makes the finals.
heh, oh well didn't catch that in time...
But what attitudes and pressures was he under when he was making those split second calls? What were his preconceptions i.e. Siggie is a thug or Kewell is an Aussie legend...
And someone did suggest more in the match thread...
Not a conspiracey, just piss poor standards. All be it, we copped all the bad decisions and they didn't get one.

so if Siggy and muscat's reputations as rough players is allowed to influence ref decisions, why does Kewell's reputaions as a cock not get him carded for abusing the assistant ref - just more inconsistancy......
Queenslander 3x a year.

I am disgusted...
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

exactly - this is why I find it odd/annoying that the old excuse of "oh refs think siggy and muscat are rough players so they are targeted" gets used when we get cheap cards. If reputation is an influence - and to be honest I think it is - there clearly isn't a fair/consistent application of prejudice.

Kevin Muscat.
The reason why they are tagged is because they do exactly that - play at the thin end of the blue line. Look at Patricks avatar. I will say that for both of them however, the improvement in discipline this year has been very good.
Grumpy old bastard alert

Exactly. People can cry they are unfairly targeted but every so often, they pop up and do something that makes you go 'thats why you get nailed'. The opposite of that, how often do you see his partner Durante do stuff like Sigmund. Reputation is everything and Sigmund and Manny are not exactly choir boys in that department.

As in life, we make the bed in which we lie, however fair or unfair that may be. It is human nature and is why previous convictions are not disclosed at a Criminal trial. It is possible to turn those perceptions around, Like Vinnie has done in regards to previous disciplinary problems, and which in reality, Siggy has gone a long way to doing this year. Manny still very much a work in progress but again shown marked improvement. Other players have been and always will be thugs ie Kevin Muscat and Jacob Burns.
In general, and based on my gut feeling alone, we have done a lot better this year with yellow cards and suspensions than in previous years with only Kenny and Manny, Boxall having had suspensions for accumulation of cards iirc. In later half of season, Kenny has improved dramatically in that regard too.
