I looked that game up because I remembered the Elrich goal being some kind of a screamer - but it really wasn't as good as I'd remembered - and I got those little gems.

I remember at the end of the game we were really pushing for the winner before Christie's meltdown. At the final whistle I was standing there all gutted and Ballane came over to me and said "I am so jealous, you will be in Sydney to see our first ever win" (JD, Feverish and I were going over for that game). Prophetic.

It was a pretty decent goal... wasn't it a finalist for goal of the season?
How many games that season did we give away games with comedy late goals? It really was painful to watch, but I still have fond memories of that first season.

i think my fondest was season 1 pre-season game vs sydney, scheduled for the basin but upgraded to RoF due to high demand, still have the ticket

Think I was the most gutted against CCM ( I believe? ) when it looked like we were going to snatch a win and the Christie/O'Dor/Old Benny Hill triumvirate screwed it up. Shows how good we've got it now with Dura and Siggy.
Even last season, as horrible as it was, wasn't as crushingly bad as some of the defending in that first season.
