i think the wire just highlighted how hick it was!
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
A more likely relationship would be the size of Palmy folk and the portions served up at their local boozers! That's the first time in my life i have waived away wedges and sour cream before i finished it - Nice one SAH!
Did you ever get to the wedges under that sour cream ?
looked like an enormous white cow pat!

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

...is Adelaide City Force
any excuse to moan it seems on here
Personally I had a great time, they had Hell pizza, $5.00 beer a good enough atmosphere in the crowd.Good night out after the game ,although i was hoping we'd score so we could have have got to do the avalance like they do in south American games charge down to the wire and back would've been a laugh (and possibly caused a few injuires) but a fun trip none the less.
it was like an away game for people who can't afford to travel to Aussie to watch the boys play there, well for me at least.
oh and they're Talking about doing it again (a game in manawatu) next season
We'd love to come back says the Phoenix

Oh dear. Certainly seems to. Hopefully, Tony P was just playing politics and making all the right noises. Dumb idea, imho.
Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

From a $$$ point of view I can't see how the club can justify PN.

As Oska said, Palmy would have cost a fraction of what the stadium here costs, and I suspect NZ Cricket would have thought Napier was a worse option seeing as they have a cricket test on there.
Seriously though, what a bunch of rubbish in this. It was a great day, we had good fun at the game, the Speights Ale House were fantastic hosts, the beer was cheaper. If we'd won, 90% of this angst would be gone and we'll hear are people saying I wish I'd gone.
Driving around Palmy on the day the town was packed with people in Phoenix and Fever gear all smiling and happy, people at the pub before and after were smiling and happy, even those of us feeling violently ill at Cafe Cuba the next day were cheerful.
How about we transfer this angst to the more traditional post loss system of finding a player or a coach to scapegoat ?
Edit: For me it was Judas Smeltz's fault.

I believe its Trust Porirua Park. The only two down sides are it only seats 2000 max and theres no extra seating available, and its unsuitable for television (the two lights opposite the stand are on top of two big poles which are too close to the pitch, they would obscure the view too often when play entered the closest corners of the field)
otherwise it would be ok. Ive played there a few times under lights when wests had the friday night thing going before the central league, and ive watched some pretty good games up there also. makes for good viewing from the stand which can get you pretty high up

Yeah the venue isn't appropriate for an A League game, I thought it held more people but pre season it could be ok.
I was there, and enjoyed myself. But the wind did ruin it, if it had been like a fine still day, the atmosphere would have been fantastic.
I agree about the fence, a total annoyance, but I guess since it's the middle of the speedway season, they were reluctant to take it down for just one week. In the rugby configuration (ie no fence), it's perfectly OK. The fence also made it hard to take good photos too. allstarnz2009-12-15 00:23:07
Question: a damn fine member of the fever (Arsenal, take a bow) sent down a few tickets. I plan to distribute these to friends who'd probably not buy a ticket and buy my own one. Can we all sit together? How'd they do that in Palmy? Suppose it won't nearly be a sell-out so we can just move to a spare area.
From a $$$ point of view I can't see how the club can justify PN.
Who cares about the venue hire costs. Tell us how many people outside of the massive road-train that travelled up for the game, eg the regulars to RoF, actually purchased a ticket.
We had a crowd of 6900, and I would say a good third of the people at that game would have driven up from Wellington.
The drop in the venue hire barely makes up for the fact that outside of the travelling masses, bugger all people bothered to show up.

We were very close to that photo, and I heard the miserable whining gits too. They're a disgrace to football.
