What midfield? I didn't see one

Our midfield are so bad it beyond a joke now.......Im struggling to see what Elliot has brought to the nix....Lia is too slow and not up with play enough...Ifill out of sorts...ward tries and inevitably fails through no backup....Bertos...get rid of...doesnt try

Why isn't there an option for all of the above?

Not sure how you "practice" it, but the main thing that seems to be missing from the midfield is desire.

My God, you're right, I'm not really that angsty about our sh*tness but it's kinda scary that Diego would probably improve our midfield at the moment. Oska2010-11-21 11:00:08

Do you know what, last night again showed me Ricki's frustrating determination to not drop players. Surely Lia out wide with Ifill up top just doesnt make sense. Drop Lia and play Pav or even Mac up top next to greenacre.

Both times Greenacre has played next to someone, we have looked pretty good. EXCEPT for when its Ifill. Maybe Ifill just doesnt have the same striker mindset to bring greeny into the gae as much.

But Mac played alright in the opening games of the season, and Pav played great against Adelaide. Both games had us start with two real strikers up top, and Greenacre benefitted immensely.

But unfortunatelty, Brown will be back next week, he will play Lia as well, and isolate greeny all over again

Ifill is and always has been a winger, that's where he has done the most damage for us, I agree Greenie needs to have Pav or BigMac with, with Ifill whipping crosses into them.

Queenslander 3x a year.

When ifill is up front,he doesn't stay near greenie and play off him as he should. He naturally drifts back into the midfield, leaving greenacre on his own again.

So yeah I agree, may as well just play ifill out wide. Up front he drifts out of games, and provides minimal support for greenacre anyway

Allegedly

exactly. And greenie has done well next to mac and pav. Its silly to think we had two strikers on the bench yesterday yet ricki chose to play our best winger as a striker, and a cm on the wind instead. hmmmmmmm

How can I vote for all of the above?

didn't Lia get a 5th yellow last night? If so, he's taking Wednesday off then.

Lia should have a month off to rediscover his scoring touch....

um think it was his 3rd or 4th as he got a red earlier in the season and the two yellows dont count towards a suspension

I saw our midfield....drunk and lying in a gutter with a toothless crack whore trying to roll a cigarette and failing.

You're doing it wrong.  It's meant to go like this:

attacking enmasse would help..to often midfield relies on one on one battles and then some aimless cross to no one..move mass pressure please.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen
