Pace- is it important?

We seem to be happy with an older squad.

Who are the paciest players we have?

When did we last have a 'quick' team on the park and how did we go?

Who are the quickest players in the league?

How do we rate in terms of speed compared to other teams, particularly down the flanks and up front?

Do you think we should be looking to pick up quicker footballers (bearing in mind J. Downey's contribution to date!)

If we have pace we get rid of it.

Halloran is a rocket!

Our Fastest:
-Downey
-Bertos
-Pav (?)
-Muscat (simply because he bet Elrich for pace with the ball )

Pace with the ball is more important than raw pace. We used to have a couple, Bertos used tyo be quik but since his groin injury not so much, downey is super fast off the ball but has nt control with the ball at feet - therefore his pace is pretty useless

yeah pace is useless without technical ability, else your just knocking it past hoping to win it

Or perhaps it is pace of decision making and passes to feet?

Pace is only a problem when you let them us it - like sitting to deep.

Well everything is useless at professional level without technical ability right?

But ive known many players over the years throughout capital football who have cashed in purely on pace alone. Im one of them, ive never been one of most technically skilled on the pitch (hence why ive been at back my entire life - cant finish for shit) but ive always been one of the quickest.

Pace, along with technical ability is something we are definitely lacking.

Rojas last season is the easiest example. Made a huge difference as he had both. At the moment, we are lacking anyone who genuinely has both and overall are pretty slow.

I reckon he'd still out sprint 90% of our team.

there are many different types of pace:

* pure speed over distance (Walcott, Fake Ronaldo)
* Explosive over 5 yards (Romario, Aguero)
* First 5 yards in your head (Sheringham, Jones)
* First 6 inches in your sister in law (Giggs)

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Aging Brazilian strikers who used to play for Inter Milan just seem to end up looking like beached manatees for some reason. Just ask Adriano

Actually Ronaldo suffers from hypothyroidism
[quote=Ronaldo]To control it, I was told I would have to take some hormones that are not permitted in football because of antidoping....The head wants to go on, but the body can't take it anymore. I have to accept my defeats and I've lost to my body.

I see what your saying but depends on the position and the level, i wouldnt say many CBs/DMs have great technical ability/ control in the aleague (Zwannjy + a few). But yeah, Downey seemingly is all pace, no control/passing/crossing ability. Hence why he's behind others in the position he was bought in to play...

Meanwhile, Adriano is just plain old fat
