Can any youtube/video whiz do a collection of Ifill's goals for the Nix and set it to Tina Turner's "Simply the Best" song?
Paul Ifill
Sad day.All hail the King.
Cheers Paul - loved your work

He mentioned it on In The Zone 98 too.
A privilege to have seen him play. Still recall the disbelief of many of us after his first few games for us. As an aside my family was on the same plane as him when he went to the Allstars game. Often when I head off to games my grand daughter asks if im going to see Paul as he spent much of the flight playing games with her. It gets used far to often but he us a LEGEND

Loved watching him beat his man drifting in from wide - real, real class. Number 8 on the shirt!!!
Our first player to have the "X-Factor". 2009-10 was so awesome.
So the big banner is out of action. Alternatives? Chant on the 8th minute?

Can't really add anything to what's been already said by everyone else. If we ever build our own ground I hope there's a stand named after him

Lets hope there is no Totori Terrace
Pure class all the time.
On the field, off the field, even on the podcast.
Legend
my all time fav...genuine nice guy to talk to albeit briefly.
"Pass to Ifill" T for the next home game... possibly rest of the season.
Wot 2B said x gazillion.

Think you can measure a player's impact by the response they get from opposition fans. Lost count of the messages I've seen today for him from fans of other HAL clubs.
Phone-Nix reaps rewards again (even if the grammar is questionable):
Phoenix has signed Barbados international and former Millwall, Blades and Crystal Palace striker Paul Ifill, details on www.wellingtonphoenix.com (not actually there yet)
Anyone know if he's any good?

4th. Smeltz, Sigmund, Rojas...
1st now?
this got no love when I put it in the chants section a few months back, but I am putting it back out there
Finishing but! 3 of ours queueing up and make a meal of it
Sad to see you retire Paul, I always hoped you would be back for the Nix next season. I hope you continue to work with the club, I think you are a fantastic ambassador. Well done.
Watched Paul coaching his academy here in Nelson last night. He's got the makings of a truely great coach. The kids worship him - watch out for mini ifill's coming your way soon!

Does his retirement make him eligible for the Legends game?

Former Wellington Phoenix star Paul Ifill joins us to look
back on an illustrious playing career that will come to an end this
year after the former Barbados international failed to fully recover
from a ruptured Achilles he suffered in 2013.

Edit: but now it has worked apparently :)
I particularly love this part and it makes me laugh
"I missed another chance in extra-time before scoring one of my all-time favourite goals.
I decided to celebrate with the Yellow Fever and took off on a 100-yard dash towards them, only to realise that after 100 minutes of football I wasn't going to make it, and abandoned my plan at the halfway line and raised my arms instead."
"no matter what, there was always what we called a 'no d**kheads' policy that was strictly enforced between the players"

So it's official, the "no cocks" policy was real. And it just officially died yesterday.
We've bought in cocks before and we have loved them. a couple of GKs come to mind.

Nah, surely not. Vuko and Reddy stand up blokes! See how Reddy responded to the Fever jibes at Eden Park
Reddy and Vuko are both slightly nuts - especially Reddy - but both were professional while playing for us.
